I definitely recommend a LOT of trial and error for any man who struggles with it. A rare few (perhaps 25%) seem to have no issue from the get-go with it, but most of us find it a real adjustment. It took me years, and ultimately getting a custom made device before I was able to do it easily and w/o any loss of sleep. No combo for the CB 3K worked well enough that I could go without noticing it.
But the 4 main things that I have learned worked for me to help me sleep in lockup:
1) I use a skin lotion at night and not a "lube" like I do during the day. At night = Goldbond medicated, and yeah it *is* menthol, so you will notice it) and during the day I sparingly use A&D ointment.
2) Loose fitting boxer briefs for bed. During the day what I wear varies depending on what I'm doing - a lot of sitting = loose, a lot of walking = tight.
3) Sleep on my side with a pillow under my knee.
4) Be extra mindful about urinating before bed. I will sit on the toilet an extra 10 mins to make sure my bladder is as empty as possible.
