My hubby gets darker balls with an attempted erection while in the cage... as do many others. It goes away after the erection subsides.

I wear the 1 3/4" base ring in the CB-6000s. The 1 5/8 one fits me better but gets too tight with erections. Is it normal for the base ring of my Jailbird to be so much smaller?

I had the same problem. The 1 5/8" Base ring with my Jailbird was fine except at night when I got an erection and then it was too tight and cut off circulation at times. I went back to the 1 3/4" for a while and was eventually able to return to the 1 5/8" base ring. It fits great now and I went 30 days 24/7 without removing it. I originally had the 3/8" gap and when MM adjusted it to 7/16" it stopped pinching. You may need to just use the smaller ring during the day and switch to the larger ring at night for a bit until your body adjusts to the smaller ring. It is surprising to see how quickly your body can adjust down to smaller and smaller base rings. I can barely get everything into the smaller base ring but it feels sooooo good.
