She gave up on using the internet because she never knew who she was chatting with online. I only knew of one other site that verifies and as expected, most women do not verify.
Every once in a while the question of "verification" comes up. Sometimes it's about Keyholders, sometimes it's about women, sometimes it's even about whether the guys are actually locked up.

Here's the thing: This is an internet forum. We try to run this forum in such a way that we are all adults having adult discussions, and acting like adults in our interactions with each other. But at the end of the day, it's an internet forum, and is subject to all of the issues that any other forum might have.

I know that there was one FLR forum that asked for verification, and went through great lengths to keep teh menz from reading certain forums. It didn't work out well for a number of reasons, some of which having to do with the childish attitudes of a number of the members. We - the mods and the other members here - try very hard to encourage honest and responsible communication.

We really do not have any way to keep men from posing as women in order to gain access to the KH forum. We do have 5 mods, 2 of whom are women, and we keep an eye on things. If someone seems "off" we check it out, and (like any other problem here) we deal with it accordingly. So far it hasn't been an issue. We can't guarantee that it never will be, however, so this is where all of the members have to make some decisions: how much (or little) information do you feel comfortable disclosing? How comfortable are you with discussing your kinks? How much do you trust anonymous strangers on the internet?

I would hope the KH's do their own self-policing to the extent it is done on this side of the forum.

With this not being a wanker fantasy site, when some one appears to be questionable they are challenged. We have had a few over the years that have been questioned, asked to back up, or explain themselves. Some have been able and it's been accepted. Most would raise a big ruckus, complain everyone was picking on them, then inform us they were leaving. Older members will remember one asexual in particular.

By now there are experienced KH's "over there". I think it would be hard for a man to convince some of them they were a woman for very long. I would hope they, along with the moderators, keep it an informative, helpful area for KH's only.

I should also add that in the past, we discussed whether or not to keep the Keyholder forum closed (i.e., keyholders only). I was initially against the idea (believing that everyone should be on the honor system), but it has turned out that almost everyone prefers it that way, and it has slowly been growing.

And I really do need to mention that the main reason that this is such an awesome groups to work with is because all of you, the members, work at keeping it that way. Thanks for making out job that much easier. :)

New to this site so still trying to figure it out. How do I get into the key holders group? I know that you have to be added but I'm not sure how to make that happen. Thanks!

Did you submit your DNA sample to the mods?

Oh, never mind - you're all set.

Thanks for the reply. I was just curious as I ran a BBS in the old days of 300 baud modems there were a lot of guys impersonating women. I just cannot shake the image of a guy playing online with another guy as I once did. :) As you said, there is no good way to vet people. I shut down my old BBS and the forum I was running up to last year due to problems with users. Like you, I do not make any money from it so it was not worth the aggravation. I even had hate groups attacking me because I was not as extreme in my beliefs as they were. Now I just use other people's forums and let them put up with any problems. :) Thank you for you services. :)

It's nice to see some appreciation once in a while. ;)

It really is surprising, though, that even though nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing you to come to this (or any other) board, that some people will complain that it's not to their liking, not like the other boards, not doing it right, etc.

Last year, we had one guy who actually got pretty abusive when he didn't get an answer to a question in, oh, like a 6 hour period. He then went on a rant about the "old dinosaurs" around here, how he had to register twice because we deleted his posts in our spam cleanup (that was probably true), and a bunch of other stuff. Banned him. He came back to complain. Banned him again. Then he PMed me on my Reddit account to bitch some more. That's a lot of work for somebody who doesn't like this group in the first place. Shut off your computer and go outside and play, alright?

I remember that fuckwit... :-) It is amazing how much self destructive energy some folks have, put half of that to good use and you might be a "mill yon air Rodney" (The UK folks will get that from a sit come that ran for years ;-)
