No offence?DocSwitch wrote:She posted an article written by someone else on her sight about a war being waged on women and dropping birth rates due to vaccination world wide. I read it and honestly...no offense meant if anyone here believes in it...but the ideas and conclusions in the article were so ridiculous I wanted to laugh but the idea of someone believing firmly in it and trying to stop vaccination programs made me want to hit something.
If people really believe that kind of garbage then call it as you see it: they're stupid.
Nigeria is one of only three countries in the world where polio is still endemic and they have strong opposition to vaccination (to the point of violence and murder). The other two are Pakistan and Afghanistan.
It's no surprise to learn their troubles are rooted in backward and mediaeval religion. It's also no surprise to learn when you correlate religiosity of countries with basic things like freedom, attitudes to women, hygiene, health-care, economic and social stability, and so on, the more religious a population is the worse off they are.
Lots of people believe lots of stupid things -- vaccination is a "plot", condoms cause AIDS, Obama is the Anti Christ (he's a dick, but he's just a human dick), homosexuality is a sin, homoeopathy is effective, earthquakes and hurricanes are signs of God's wrath, the earth is 6,000 years old and evolution is a conspiracy and a lie... the list is endless.
Anyone who believes these things really is fucking stupid.
