No offence?

If people really believe that kind of garbage then call it as you see it: they're stupid.

Nigeria is one of only three countries in the world where polio is still endemic and they have strong opposition to vaccination (to the point of violence and murder). The other two are Pakistan and Afghanistan.

It's no surprise to learn their troubles are rooted in backward and mediaeval religion. It's also no surprise to learn when you correlate religiosity of countries with basic things like freedom, attitudes to women, hygiene, health-care, economic and social stability, and so on, the more religious a population is the worse off they are.

Lots of people believe lots of stupid things -- vaccination is a "plot", condoms cause AIDS, Obama is the Anti Christ (he's a dick, but he's just a human dick), homosexuality is a sin, homoeopathy is effective, earthquakes and hurricanes are signs of God's wrath, the earth is 6,000 years old and evolution is a conspiracy and a lie... the list is endless.

Anyone who believes these things really is fucking stupid.

In your opinion ... other opinions are available and may not coincide with yours.

All opinions are not equal.

Some things are supported by evidence. Some people believe things in spite of the evidence.

Those people are stupid.

For example, evolution is a fact. The mechanisms of how it happened are the theory (and I mean in the scientific sense of the word, not the everyday one).

Not accepting the facts in the face of over 150 years' evidence means you've got to be pretty stupid.

Or mentally ill.

Or retarded.

Today the theory of evolution is about as much open to doubt as the theory that the earth goes round the sun.

But still stupid people still doubt it (and some of them still think the sun orbits the earth).

My apologies for going off topic there however my point was to illustrate the idea that she may in fact have those belief's about male orgasm control, servitude, etc. and that for her it's not fantasy fodder or a way of boosting sales. One's state of mind and capacity for logic can sometimes be elucidation by listening to some their beliefs.

And Sarah...I think I'm going to like you. Also me and my KH bought one of your books way back, we enjoyed it thoroughly. :D

Wow...holy need for a grammar check batman! My last post has a few glaring grammar mistakes there, anyway, that's what I get for typing out posts on my tablet.

Sarah I like your blog very much!

Your stereotyping of all religious people is pretty repugnant and directly contradicts your earlier point about not wanting people to tell you what you think. How can you possibly know what all religious people think? You don't and neither do I. Lets put that one to bed shall we?

Now back to the topic at hand.

One could argue there is no such thing as unconditional love. We all want something for our efforts even if its just the satisfaction of doing a good deed. Chastity is probably no different for many of us here. In any case as long as both are consenting what's the problem?

Show me where I do that, and I'll write a cheque for $1000 to any charity you like. I merely pointed out some people and their beliefs are stupid.

I suspect most people mean you love someone or something no matter what.

My point is while that might be true, it has nothing to do with what you put up with from them.
