Steelworxx A-ring

First of all I was hoping we wouldn't have to send the Revenge back to order a smaller sized ring but the email I got today says we need to sho they can make the ring, ugh! Shipping times and stuff will make me crazy!

My real question is: with the A-ring being bent slightly back at the bottom does it still fit like a round ring? We want to get a 1 & 7/8 (47mm) ring but don't know if the fit is different and maybe if it fits bigger he would need a 45mm?

Thoughts?

This isn't a Steelworxx but, It's similar to what I did.

I wanted a base ring with the curve back for extra hang space of the sack. I have a MM device and they don't offer it. At work we have a machine that bends things. I ordered a proper sized ring form MM. I then placed it in the machine and made a bend of about 25 degrees. The bend starts about 1/2" up from the bottom.

With this mod I have the extra room I wanted with unexpected results. First, there is very little side movement of the base ring. Secondly,I have large testicles so I've always needed to order a solid base ring that was larger than what I needed after it was on. (What I liked about the split base rings.) This caused the cage to always droop forward. This little bend also helped to stop this.

The point of all of this is, for me, the little bend made no difference installing it and made for a better fitting device. Hopes this helps.

So diameter didn't change having the bent back ring? Hubby has the same issue where he needs the 1 7/8 ring to get his balls through but really could use a 1 3/4 ring at his base to hold the cage closer to his body.

Does anyone know if Dietmar will make a ring without us sending the whole device back?

It made no difference for me and it was a concern also.

An educated guess would be the area of the ring remains the same because you're moving it back, not into the area of the circle.

Any math or engineering majors?

You have to send it back. I have a second Steelheart ordered separately and the rings don't interchange between the two. They are close but not quite good enough.

Sending it back is a pain. As soon as I received the second one I sent the first back for modifications, it took a really long time to get to him from the US. Add to that the time for the mods and shipping back and I think it was about 2 1/2 months. Luckily I had other devices while I waited. This is why I always recommend a second ring, especially if it is going overseas like this.

I had the 'bent' A-ring on one device but didn't like it. Others swear by it (search Thumpers blog, he is an advocate). If I ever send my small tube back (my normal device) I might try another bent ring but in a much smaller size just to see if it makes a difference. I believe part of the problem I had with mine is that even though it was smaller than the ring I had been wearing it was still about 5mm larger than what I ultimately ended up with.

If Dietmar is willing to just make the damn ring, we are willing to take the chance it won't be perfect... I'm not happy about having to send it back, if we have to... we basically decided, if we absolutely have to send it, that we would wait a bit before sending it out.

Yeah he said he couldn't make it without the device. So if we want a smaller ring we have to send it back. Right now we just want to hang on to it and see if there is ANYthing else that needs fixing. We hope to fix anything and everything and only send it out once!
