No but seriously i need to ask this question..

Post by koc »

Hi guys just wanting to know from the pros. Why everywhere i read and ask, people say not to wear a cockring for long periods of time, but here we are wearing devices for days, weeks and even months. Im pretty sure Iv developed a varicocele on my lefty, because of wearing the device to bed.. I am off of the device now (I do miss it) and my cockrings too, but I cannot afford to cause more damage. Scheduled to go for an ultrasound on the 14th sept.. Lets see where I stand. :(..

Most cock rings are designed to restrict blood flow into the penis, causing the erection to last longer and stay harder. Chastity devices, even those that use the trapped ball technique, should not be tight enough to restrict blood flow.

I hope you recover and everything is ok. Let us know how it goes.

I too have wondered the same thing. Yeah, I know, shouldn't be so tight that it restricts blood flow but really, how loose does it have to be? Almost anything will restrict blood flow to some degree. Same with the cage.

I know that when I wake up in the early morning with a nocturnal erection I try to pay attention and be sure it goes away after a while. If I wake up again (they don't usually hurt so I can go back to sleep) I make sure to get up and try to work it down all the way. Sometimes it will still come back but at least there was a "rest" period in between.

Yah.

There's a doctor who weighs in on the forum occasionally. But speaking as a non-doctor and as someone who had an issue indirectly related to a device, realize that there probably aren't many studies on the long term effects of chastity devices.

IMO, it's wise to be -very- careful about your ring. The tube is probably a safer thing, but there's probably no data on, say, increased prevalence of Peyronie's disease.

In my case, and I think in the case of many fellas on the forums, there's a huge tradeoff. Chastity has made my sex life hundreds of times better. But there is unquantified risk.

Best wishes.

This is an old thread, but I just want to add that I also developed a varicocele in my lefty (had an ultrasound yesterday). Not sure when it happened, sometime within the first two weeks of using my cage. I think it happened while sleeping in it, but I can't be sure. Be careful everyone, and use a large ring!
