peeing while caged at night

depends on what you are wearing I suppose. My use urinals and stand up to pee in my Jailbird all the time. honestly only time when i sit to pee is in the middle of the night with the lights off because I don't want to blind myself at 4am.

What could be a problem, is that not every job has a porta-potty, or at least one nearby. If I have to sneak behind the dump truck to take a leak on the ground, am I gonna get pee all over myself?

I keep a coffee stirrer, or the stick from a Q-tip in my pocket to make adjustments to reduce spray potential. The cap from something like a Bic stick-pen works too. Just make sure you're lined up properly and you're good to go (pun intended).

I do the reading a magazine thing. Works for me and increases my knowledge. Win-win.
