Mature Metal for the high and tight.

I'm ordering a jail bird next month but as I sit quite high and tight I'm unsure what size gap I'd be best with. Any comments from people with this kind of experience would be appreciated.

I'd follow their recommendation of going with the most common gap of 3/8". The right sized gap depends upon the size of your testicles. Measuring them doesn't do any good because they are able to deform when they're pulled against the gap. The good news is that MM can easily adjust gap (without the long lead time required when they build an entire device) if the original gap proves to be too wide or too narrow.

The only other advice I'd have is to be patient when first wearing a ball-trap device. What might appear to feel a little tight at the beginning could be perfectly comfortable after you've grown accustomed to the feeling and your scrotal skin is sufficiently toughened up. Caution! If your nads start turning dark, cool to the touch, or numb...it's too damn tight and you're cutting off circulation!!

Thanks for the advice dude, I've been wearing a cheap cb6ks and had the dark, cold nads, so I know what to look out for. I've found what would be a comfortable fit in the cb6ks if it wasn't for the ridged base ring trying to slice through my jewels! Gap size on a custom was my only real concern. I'd prefer to get it right 1st time, I don't want my chastity in the hands of overseas mail services!

I've much the same issue as you, very high and tight. Although Mature Metal devices are among the best on the market, they are not necessarily the most comfortable for folks like us. Having some experience with MM devices, I think the problem stems from the fact that the entrance to the cage is not angled, but is perpendicular to the cage itself. This results in a very small gap between the bottom of the cage and the bottom of the base ring for us high and tight folks to deal with. If you will look at the entrance to the plastic cage in the CB6K series, you will note that the entrance to the cage is angled in relation to the cage, allowing more room at the bottom. Constructing a custom SS cage this way would, no doubt, cause tremendous manufacturing headaches for MM and most folks are satisfied with the MM devices as they are. You can mimic this angling in a MM device by having them increase the gap until it is comfortable for you to wear. They do this by bending the locking post on the base ring upward until the desired gap is attained between the bottom of the cage and the bottom of the base ring that will give you a comfortable wearing experience.

I started with the 3/8 in gap but I think I'm going to increase it to 1/2 in. I'm having some issues with discomfort during the mornings when the scrotum tends to swell and/or draw upward. It's a work in progress. I've started wearing my device again after about an eight month break and having troubled getting acclimated to it again due to discomfort in the scrotum. I'm getting MM to stretch my base ring a little bit larger diameter and may ask them to increase the gap, as well.

Yes the cb6ks is angled differently plus there is some "give" in the gap due to some flexibility in the pins.

I moved up to an MM QK and had a problem until I increased the gap to 5/8". This is ok but i'd prefer a smaller gap. I think part of the problem was the relatively narrow cage thickness at the base which leads to a small cut underneath my penis after just a few days. I had worn it fine for four weeks when I first got it in the summer but it became a problem I guess when the weather turned cooler.

I asked MM if they could angle the cage as described above but it wasn't possible unfortunately.

I just ordered a JB with a 3/8" gap to see if that works better as it has a ring at the cage base which I'm hoping will be more forgiving. Ordered the cage slightly shorter for other reasons as well.

After you've worn the new JB for a while, I hope you'll update us on the differences in wearing comfort vs the QK. I'm considering a new device order next year to tweak the cage size and I haven't decided whether to try the JB or WM.

We have had members report that the round ring at the entrance to the cage on the JB causes discomfort due to putting pressure on a small area of the scrotum. That could have been due to mis-sizing, but I've not had any problem with the flat bar stainless at the entrance to the QK cage nor have I heard of any, but the round bar near the business end of the cage has caused some discomfort at times. Add to that, I have never heard any negative wearing reports from owners of the Watchful Mistress ever. That's why I'm very interested in hearing about your JB wearing experience when it arrives. I still haven't made up my mind which one to try next.
