Does MC impact your work performance?

Post by SunLocked »

Hi,

I am a newb in the field of MC (here is my Hello World post), and my wife and I had an interesting discussion about this: Does MC / orgasm denial (negatively) impact your work performance - what is your experience? When we have done some several-day spanning T&D, we both found, that it makes it difficult to keep focused at work... Is this something which happens mostly in the beginning and one gets used to it? Or is this a "side effect" one would have to live with in MC?

Thanks for your thoughts and comments

Well, earlier this week, when I wore my device to work for the first tim, the only differecne I noticed was that was too afraid someone might notice it, so I spent a lot more time at my desk. LOL.

I haven't been through a truly extensive denial period- maybe two weeks at most. I did notice that I was pretty much thinking about sexual things almost twice as often as normal, but I still managed to focus on my school work as necessary. I can't speak to a larger period of denial though.

And about wearing to work, I am constantly moving and lifting, so I worry about putting far too much stress on my current, plastic cage. Once I go metal, I won't even find escape when working... Not THAT kind of escape though. I just realized that it might be good to clarify that one, haha.

In the beginning I was always concerned about how I sat, fearing that someone would notice the "bulge" in my pants. I worked in a predominately male environment and it wouldn't have been unusual for some of the guys to notice and say something. Now I don't even think about it, and it's never been an issue. As for performance of my job, I would think about my predicament all the time in the beginning, now I don't give it a second thought. It's like wearing a ring on my finger. At first I would fidget with it and spin it on my finger. Over time I would feel naked without it. I feel the same way about my Jailbird. It's become part of my "jewelry". It's so comfortable and just normal wearing it that I don't think about it much anymore.

Finding a comfortable CD fit is important depending on what you do. When I wore the CB models I found that my ability to bend over and pick things up off the ground was sometimes compromised and a few times painful. That problem was eliminated when I moved onto the Jailbird.
Happily secured since 4/2010 :-)
Have worn CB3000, CB6000s, MM Jail Bird & Watchful Mistress,
DHgate A271 & 273, DHgate Full Stainless Steel Belt & DHgate HT nub
Currently wearing A273

Given that I have a jailbird ordered, this is comforting to read. It sounds like our experience with the CB model was overall similarish, so I am happy to hear that your jailbird wear is so great. I mean, that was the common consensus to begin with, but I guess that this was nice to read at the moment, lol.

Staying chaste is a funny lifestyle. The more you get used to it, the more you don't want to quit it! For me, if I am not locked for a couple of days, I feel I am missing something in my pants! Of course, one should properly get adjusted to the cage.
Stay chaste. Make your wife & life happy. Forever.

I find the first few weeks it really does, I get easily distracted thinking about my fate and what might happen when I get home. Now, after 93 days, I am back to a pretty good work rate. I allow myself about half an hour on this forum and then into it. A bit like reading the paper before you start!
Mrs K & I discussed this and she says it is all the more reason to lock me straight back up after I get an orgasm some time in the next 3 weeks. I am starting to agree with her, but then I do also love that first lock up stage after a time unlocked.
Locked in a HT v2 small by my lovely wife and mistress K.
Locked on 12th July. Last orgasm 11th July. Release date: Could be it for the year!

Interesting to read all these responses, generally being in lockup helps me to be more focused and productive. And creative too.

Same here, I've actually been losing weight lately too because of the extra energy not wasted on other things.

Just in general in public, I often tend not to wear my device...it comes off when i leave the house, back on when i return. The times when i start wearing continuously are when I'm in a groove with it, and it doesn't feel noticeable to me, and it stops making a difference if it's on or not. If because of my outfit or whatever, I'm going to feel self-conscious about it at all...I'm not wearing that day.

OTH, the effects of the denial don't go away, even if the device is temporarily off. I tend to focus on a few planning tools when I'm stressed, including from denial. At the outset of the day, I run down my total list of things to do, and ID the 2-3 that are reasonable to get done that day. I give myself about an hour or so of the day to book to other projects, random tasks, but everything else needs to be on those priorities until I'm done. Reduces my stress reaction of trying to do all the things and succeeding at none of them.
