mm jailbird question

Hi. Pleased to have found your informative site.
I'm thinking of ordering the jailbird and was wondering if it would be comfortable to wear whilst riding my motorbike?
Also, I currently wear a cheapo with a 45mm (1 3/4'') hinged ring. This is comfy, but when moving to a solid ring, is this size transferable or will I need to resize. Other measurements have been taken with callipers over several days, so the time and extra cash (I'm in uk) for the measuring ring set from mm hardly seems worth it.

Have you tried putting the hinged ring on when it is completely closed? Personally, I can wear a smaller hinged ring than a solid ring. It's a problem of getting everything through a solid ring.

I have a JB with a cage length of 2" and ride a Harley Electra Glide without any problems.

Thanks, yes did that with the ring zip wired closed no probs. I might order a cheapo replacement solid ring 40mm to try for size that I've seen on ebay, although a 5mm drop might be too much?
