Hello,
This board has been a great resource for information. I'm hoping everyone will be willing to help me out once more.
I'm looking at upgrading from my current CB6000 short to a Steelheart device. I enjoy the look of them and, more importantly, would like to have something custom fit. I wear the CB6Ks regularly and it's comfortable, but is a bit bulky and the tube is too big for me.
Needless to say, I've been doing a lot of measuring and research to figure out what size I should get.
I currently wear the 1 3/4" diameter (~45 mm) A-ring on the CB6Ks. However, after wearing several smaller O-rings without a device, I've settled on a 42 mm diameter ring. It's the smallest I've been able to wear comfortably and is really not noticeable. The only time I've had an issue with it is when I've worn it to bed and woken up with an erection that was difficult to get subsided.
I've measured my flaccid self numerous times over a long period. On average, my length is 85 mm. My circumference is 90 mm, which equates to a diameter of about 29 mm.
The spacers on my current device give me an opening at the top (between the A-ring and tube) of 10 mm. The bottom spacing is slightly larger, probably due to the flexibility of the plastic and the fact my scrotum is between the cage and A-ring. The bottom spacing is approximately 12 mm.
So, based on those measurements, here is what I'm leaning toward getting:
A-ring: diameter 42 mm
Overall device length (tube/spacing/A-ring): 85 mm
Tube diameter: 29 mm
Top space (between A-ring and tube): 10 mm
Bottom space (between A-ring and tube): 12 mm
Does anyone have any suggestions or see any problems I might run into? Should I add a mm or two to the length and/or diameter of the tube? Since the A-ring thickness is smaller (8 mm vs. ~13 mm on the CB6K), would I be smarter going with smaller distances on the top and bottom spacing between the A-ring and tube?
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Second opinion needed on Steelheart measurements
Have you tried using a smaller ring on the CB6000s? You might want to do that for a while.
I have never seen a 29mm tube but I have a 32mm and a 35mm. I think my 32mm is pretty small and cannot imagine how small a 29mm tube must be. I also have a Steelheart that is 80mm OAL and it is a pretty long tube, way too long for me. I was in a CB3000 at one point and I think the 80mm is longer than that is. A 29mm diameter by 85mm OAL is going to be long and skinny. That might be right but I would want to be sure. Is there a lot of extra side to side room in the CB6Ks?

Re: Second opinion needed on Steelheart measurements
Hello Atone,
Thanks so much for the feedback. I have tried using the next smaller A-ring, but it got a bit uncomfortable. I feel like the thickness of the ring is what causes that issue. I'll give it another try, but the current ring/spacer combination is what I've used for some time and feels comfortable.
I'm not sure we could ever compare our ideas of "a lot," but I do have some space in the CB6Ks. I can fairly easily sneak my index finger inside the tube. I will sometimes do that to push some lotion up to my head.
Maybe I should ask it this way--if you measured yourself at 29 mm in diameter and 85 mm in length, what size tube diameter and overall device length would you order for a Steelheart? Keep in mind, I obtained my diameter by measuring my circumference and dividing by Pi. I got my length by measuring from the base along the top to the head. I took many measurements in different temps/clothes/etc. to make sure I got it right, so that's what I have to work with.
Any insight is appreciated. Thanks again!

Can you give a little more of a description of the tube being too big? Is it too long? too wide? Both?pamdipot wrote:I wear the CB6Ks regularly and it's comfortable, but is a bit bulky and the tube is too big for me.
If it is too long then an 85mm OAL on the Steelheart is going to be too long as well. The CB6ks is 2.5", the ring is .5" and the small spacer is .25" = 3.25" overall x 25.4 mm/in = 82.55mm.
I would start by figuring out the correct length based on where you usually are in the CB6k. Then I would determine the diameter by examining the free space around the tube when at that length.
The problem is that when you are at your minimum length you are not at your minimum diameter. Likewise when you are at your minimum diameter you are not at your minimum diameter. And then there is that magical ability of the penis to just sort of shrink up once it has been in the tube for a while. I wear a pretty small tube and still sometimes when I use a q-tip to dry out I stick it in there and there is nothing there. I don't know how I can only fill half this pretty small tube sometimes.
One more thing I will add. I would rather be in a tube that was a little wider but the right length than in a tube that was too long even if the diameter was correct.

Re: Second opinion needed on Steelheart measurements
Hello Atone,
Thanks again--this is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping to hear. What I've done is put a mark on the top of the tube where my length normally is. I'm going to keep checking the mark to make sure that's where I'm usually at. The next time I have the tube off, I'll measure back from that mark to see what length I'm at.
Am I correct in saying the CB6Ks ID (side-to-side) is about 35 mm (1 3/8")? If so, you're correct in steering me away from 29 mm. My thickness doesn't fill the tube side to side. There is a noticeable gap. Using your last statement about the tube being better off a bit wider but the right length, I'm trying to determine if I'd be better off with a 32 mm, which would eliminate that gap, or keep the 35 mm tube diameter to have a little bit of leeway like I do now.

I'm not sure of the size of the CB6Ks because I don't have one but I think that it is advertised as 1 3/8". I don't think it is round though, a little wider than tall.pamdipot wrote: Am I correct in saying the CB6Ks ID (side-to-side) is about 35 mm (1 3/8")? Just to be clear, that is just *my* opinion on width and length. Hopefully others will chime in as well. One of the advantage of having a little extra width is that your penis will self adjust in the tube a little better. My 32mm tube requires me to occasionally move things around a little bit with a q-tip. I usually use one in the morning when I get out of the shower to dry any extra water. I use that opportunity to make the adjustments. I rarely have to any other time during the day.pamdipot wrote:Using your last statement about the tube being better off a bit wider but the right length, I'm trying to determine if I'd be better off with a 32 mm, which would eliminate that gap, or keep the 35 mm tube diameter to have a little bit of leeway like I do now.
There is also a very different feel between having no extra space around the diameter and having that little extra room. I have two Steelhearts that are identical except for the diameter. The snug (32mm) tube takes just a little extra effort to clean in the shower because the water doesn't flow through easily. The larger (35mm) tube is really easy to clean and rinse. However, the larger tube doesn't feel as clean as the day progresses. Any trapped moisture can be felt when / if the penis moves around. I am sure the small tube has the same trapped moisture but because there is no movement I don't notice it. I don't usually clean the small tube other than in the shower in the morning. The large tube I would almost always rinse out with the squirt bottle at night.

Re: Second opinion needed on Steelheart measurements
I used a curtain ring that was similar in thickness to the Steelworxx back ring and as tight as I could get over my balls. After a few hours with it on I took measurements and then got myself hard, made sure it could soften and measured it again and then spent a night in it and measured again. My point is that you'll never wear the tube without the ring and it will alter your shape; so why take measurements without it?
I went with the 35mm instead of the 32mm tube. In hindsight the smaller tube may have made nocturnal erections less painful but that is the only part that I may have got wrong but hygiene was the priority at the time of ordering.

Re: Second opinion needed on Steelheart measurements
I may just add to your confusion, but I have been wearing a steelheart since last October. This past winter I had many incidents of my balls retracting during cold weather, so ordered a new one with a lower gap of 10mm. Also reduced the tube diameter to 32. Old one was 35mm. Tube length went from 70 to 65 (overall length went from 85 to 80). And A ring stayed at 38mm.
Last week I had to put my cb6 on for the afternoon. Had to use the 1 3/4 inch ring, which is much larger than the 38mm on the steelheart, but
nothing smaller would fit. There was some space at the end of the tube, but very little and not all the time.
I can't imagine getting into a 29mm tube. When I first saw it, I didn't think I would get into the 32mm. At first it was tight and I had that "burning ball skin" feeling several times during the week, but now total comfort but more frustrating because of always being aware of the snugness.
I think the thickness of the cb6 ring makes a comparison difficult.

Re: Second opinion needed on Steelheart measurements
pamdipot: You wrote in your post, "I got my length by measuring from the base along the top to the head." However, that may not have been the proper method to use, to accurately measure the length of your CD. The instruction guide supplied by Mature Metal with their set of nine plastic measuring rings states the following: "On length, take a ruler and measure at the base of the penis where it meets the testicles and measure to the tip of the penis. If you measure different lengths order the shorter length. Then subtract 1/4 inch. It is always better to order a little short than too long." It would appear that your measurement was taken along the top rather than from underneath. I just went through this process myself, in ordering a JailBird from Mature Metal, so I know that you want your measurements to be as accurate as possible. You may wish to re-check your length and advise the manufacturer to adjust your order accordingly, if there is any change.

Mature Metal uses a different method of specifying the dimensions when you order.Mike Bekoff wrote:The instruction guide supplied by Mature Metal with their set of nine plastic measuring rings states the following:...
