Inexpensive Steel CD

Post by jack »

I had wanted to try chastity play for a few months and didn't really know what type of device to get first. I know everyone says to start with the cb6000, but I just did not want a plastic device. Plus I have read too many accounts of these breaking (probably the imitation ones).

I really want a Steelworxx device, but could not see spending that kind of money on something my wife and I might not enjoy. So, after looking at dozens of inexpensive options, I decided to take a chance on a cheap steel CD from ebay.

There are a number of suppliers, but only a few that offered 3 base rings. Since I did not know what I could wear, I thought this was an important issue. The average cage dimensions all seemed about right. There is no telling how many times I measured my flaccid penis!

Anyway, I paid all of $42 including shipping from England and I could not be happier with the product. It looks to be just chromed steel, but all the edges are smooth and it seems like it incorporates features found on much more expensive CDs.

The base ring is just over 8mm around. It came with 3 sized base rings, 40mm, 45mm and 50mm. They said the tube is 70mm long which seems right. If you connect it with the base ring and measure as you would for a Steelworxx, it is about 88mm long.

The rings forming the cage have an ID of just under 35mm. There is a slightly larger ring at the base of the cage to rest against the scrotum. It is just over 5mm. The gap between the tube and the base ring is just under 15mm measured from the bottom of the tube.

Other than getting used to the weight of the thing (it is not light), I was able to wear it 24/7 from day 1. I did use a little hand lotion under my balls when they got a little chaffed. But I did not have any issues with abrasion of the penis. I am sure I could get my penis out just like any other non-pierced balltrap CD. But I am quite sure I could not get my balls out. This CD is very solid with no flex at all once locked together.

Anyway, I thought I would share as I have been so impressed by this CD. If it had a more refined/lower profile locking post, I don't think I would need to buy a better device. FYI, the ebay supplier was jackiejnj. Didn't see an auction for them today, but I assume they will have more to offer in the future.

Congrats Jack for being chaste! Our thoughts are quite similar. I never wanted those non-metal devices.
I have purchased precisely the same cage (with 3 rings) from e-bay. I read some comments that this device rusts; however after its arrival I checked it - it is stainless steel.
Currently I am locked in 50 mm ring. Today is 7th day. My smart wife has installed a combination number lock so I would not try stunts finding a duplicate key!
A piece of advice - initial few days, till you get used to the device, do use moisturizer at least once a day on the ball sack.
Happy chastity!

Like you, I started with a cheap steel device, in my case two different devices made in China. The good thing about it is that ordering the right high quality metal device is sort of an impossible challenge when you never experienced wearing one. We experimented at home and are ready for the next step now.

What is a simple way to check if something is stainless steel?

I am wearing the 45mm ring and it is quite comfortable. I understand that I will probably need a slightly smaller base ring with extended wear.

I bought some strechy athletic boxer shorts to help support the weight and hold the CD in place. Once I got used to the feel of the base ring, I have found that I often forget I have it on. I even get less stimulation to my penis while wearing the CD. Almost like a sensory deprivation chamber. I am thinking this is adding to the heightened sensations when I am allowed out.

This is exactly the one I bought on eBay at a cheap price (30€). But I had an awful impression about it.
The tube doesn't stay perfectly locked with the ring, and hygiene is terrible. In 2 days, it's all dirty and the metal release a strange brown substance: I think it's the result of oxidation of ferrous bicarbonate in the water, that forms a brownish red deposit. Which means, in other words, that the quality of the steel used is not good (not Stainless Steel).
Maybe you are lucky and have received a good one, while I received a super-fake one, cause mine is really terrible.

Most stainless steels are non-magnetic, the few stainless steels that are magnetic I doubt anybody would use them for this purpose.

I guess mine is stainless steel. It is not magnetic at all. I have been wearing it constatly for the past 2 weeks, showers and all. It is still bright and shiny, no sign of rust. So maybe I got lucky.

There is very little play between the locking post/guide pins and the base ring. It might move about 1/16 of an inch but that is all. I initially wondered if I could simply grab the base ring with one hand and the tube with the other and bend it enough if I had to revove the device. There is no way, it is much too sturdy.

My only real complaint is the locking post. It sits up kind of high above the base ring. If I left it in the vertical position, I think it would create a visible/odd bump in my pants. To get around this, I spin the CD slightly to the right. This moves the locking post into the crease and out of sight.

For your information
I purchased my jailhouse from ebay.co.uk
I received stainless steel, good quality device with perfect alignment of ring & cage
I am locked for 8 days. I take bath every day without fail with cage on - there is not even a bit of rusting
You may check out the following link from where I purchased it
The delivery took about 20 days, which is normal, as I stay in India

That is funny, usually you hear guys complain that it rotates slightly to the right (or left) and want to know how to prevent it.

I'm glad this device is working out for you, that is the important part.

Actually, when I'm wearing jeans or snug pants, I tend to rotate it slightly left or right to make it fit down the leg a little better.
