Depends what you're asking about. As far as comfort it is a case by case basis from what I gather, but definitely buy yourself some silicone lube and if you plan on having it on for more than two days some swabs to clean in there. Also shave down to at least a very short hair stubble.

It is a very strange sensation, even after a year of off and on wear I'm still constantly aware of it, usually in a good way, but you will probably be self concience about it at first, don't worry, no one is stairing at your crotch and no one notices.

As far as sleep, don't expect it to be pleasent for the first week. It really takes some getting used to. I woke up on avereage two times a night for the first week or two. Now I sleep like a baby, no problems at all. Make sure you relube at bedtime for a while to let it adjust with your night time errections. No, waterbased just turns into sticky paste after 20 minutes, spend the money and get silicone.

Do not use water based lube inside the tube like wettie says. Do not wear the device for long stretches in the beginning. Give your man parts time to adjust. Wear a base ring that is comfortable. Do not try to wear one that is too small. Especially in the beginning. You can adjust to a smaller diameter after a while if you wish. Allow your scrotum to adjust and stretch at it's own pace. Silicone probably works best everywhere but is rather expensive. You can use water based lube where the base ring meets the scrotum and plenty of it. I would carry it around with me and lube constantly as it gets absorbed into the skin rather quickly. What I found worked better for me in the scrotum area is water resistant sun tan lotion. It will probably get very sore & tender there so I switched to A&D Ointment (my favorite) and no more problems. I have a tube of A&D at my disposal 24/7. I also cut the top of a sock so both ends are open and pulled that over the cage and scrotum so I could still pee. This prevents the constant rubbing of your legs against your scrotum causing tenderness. I made the mistake in the beginning of having my wife lock me up and she went to visit her parents for 5 days. After about 3 days, I was in agony from the base ring stretching my scrotum and my scrotum skin started cracking. That's how I learned to use A&D. Fixed everything.
The only other discomfort you will have for a while is the infamous nocturnal erection. You will know what I am talking about in short order. You will wake up with you balls aching like you never experienced before. Don't panic, this is normal. I have found that going to the bathroom and peeing will usually relieve the pressure. The good news is that you will eventually get used to it and sleep without a problem.
and finally, welcome to your new life of chastity. It can be amazing if you have a lot of patience, especially in the beginning. Remember, your KH has a learning curve also, so give her time to adjust.

Grubber has it right, especially about going too small too soon. It is going to take some time to get used to it. If you try to go with a base ring that is too small you may find yourself waking up in positively excruciating pain. My first time, when my wife left with the Key I had used the smallest base ring because it was the only one that I couldn't 'slip out' of. After 3 days the physical pain from the bruising and friction was constant agony, and combined with the sleep deprivation from waking up every hour with a new erection and another increase in the pain level I was done in, I would have done almost anything to get the Mrs. to take it off (lucky for me she didn't take advantage of that).

This morning didn't feel okay.. It was my second night locked in and I didn't wake through the night. when I woke up in the morning my balls were aching as hell and it was like somebody was nipping my penis. i want to be able to be locked up long term.. what is this and how do I avoid it?

I agree, everything in the picture looks fine. Looks like the tube is a little long but some space at the end is good. Little bits poking out can be uncomfortable.

Not sure about the ache or nipping. The ache could just be "blue balls" from too much arousal without an ejaculation. Could also be from too much pulling during a nocturnal erection even if you didn't wake up from it. There are a bunch of remedies for blue balls, I like to do some squats with a very heavy object. I don't have to actually be able to pick it up, just the strain from trying can relieve the pressure.

I don't recall any feelings of "nipping" so I can't help there.
