Spam mail of the week
==============
They reproduce so quickly which the world will not neglect one. If you're really on the green thing, get a cat on let nature take it's course. Small bottle or box which includes a small opening. Then stick some cardboard boxes into it shaped to be a funnel. The mouse will enter for food however the funnel will close upward behind it. No escape but a single happily fed mouse without injuries. Or you could buy a humane mouse catcher. You can buy these at Walmart... that after the catch it is possible to take somewhere and dismissed.. [...]

Well, this was interesting. The subject asks about a pet mouse, but the spam-filled text was several paragraphs about how to kill mice that get into your house, and then finished up with "Thanks for your help."
BTW, lately there have been email notices going out to members of different web groups (not this one, so far) "warning" you that the group is closing (usually du to spam!) and that you need to click a link to go to a better group, etc. I don't see that happening here, since email addresses are not readily displayed, but people should be aware that it's happening elsewhere.

Re: Can a pet mouse get fully from a respiratory infection?
It's too bad we can't nuke them. I'm often reading early in the AM and see the new ones while they're still on-line, and when I do, I find myself wishing I had a button to push that would melt their CPUs.
Lately I've been toying with the idea of creating a [voluntary] bot-net to track spammers and hit them with DDOS or other attacks. I think a more offensive posture needs to be adopted, instead of mere defense. Many years ago, long before the 'net came into being as it is now, I read a sci-fi novel that fairly accurately predicted the current situation, but depicted it with more advanced VR capabilities than are currently available. Even so, it was remarkably prophetic. I wish I could remember the author and title.

It was probably Neal Stephenson, or maybethat other guy that I can never remember.
