Long term cage issues

Post by Cagedfarmer »

Evening all!

Not really sure if I should be posting this here or in the general chat section?? But I'm sure someone will soon tell me.

So.... my keyholder has now had me in near permanent chastity for over 18 months now, in a Jailbird cage. However, about 6 weeks ago, I changed my job and have gone back on the tools and now my days involve constant movement, walking, bending etc, and on several occasions, I've had incidents (rather painfully!) where my flesh has pinched by the bars.

We really like the Jail Bird as its easy to keep clean without taking it off every couple of days, but we're thinking that I'm going to need something different moving forward.

Can anyone suggest anything that isn't quite a solid tube type, or a wire cage, that might work for me??

I'm interested to here what you guys with physical jobs are wearing on a daily basis.

Many thanks, all!

I’m a caged farmer of sorts also. My kh allows me to wear what works for my activities. Activities that involve tractors, cows, chainsaws, sawmills and on rainy days I’m in my woodworking shop. So basically grease, oil, cow shit and lots of sawdust.

I prefer the metal nub or micro nub. Cleaning can be a slight issue especially with the plastic. Thing is I get pretty dirty on a regular basis so I remove about every other day, three days tops if things have been slow.
She says ‘it’s cute’ in the nub. ;)

Thank you for the reply.

Yeah that's the trouble. The challenge for us is finding something that doesn't need to be taken off so regularly to clean.
I've been locked in various different cage types over the years for extended periods of time. But it's looking like that may not be an option anymore. 😕

Interestingly, for more than 8 years I have also been wearing an A272, and the last 7+ of that permanently. I have found it to be comfortable and convenient for my long term wear, which has included a lot of physical work.

Note that there is a slightly shorter version called the A271.

Because I spent many years working in machine shops with no AC, I got into the habit of showering at night before bed. I have a removable shower head, so I can spray water directly into and around the cage to rinse it out. I use my finger to smoosh a lot of soapy water inside, and rub around what I can, and then rinse. In the morning, I take a q tip and smear some heavy hand cream like Gold Bond inside the cage from the front. The cream helps to trap stray drops of urine and body effluvia, and because it is water soluble, cleans easily in the night shower.

I would suggest researching your cleaning regime more. I am most comfortable in a solid tube device for the same reason: pinching. I previously had a Steelworxx Steelheart. Just changed to a BA-31P as it has a more comfortable PA attachment. Both are solid tube designs. I have worn the Steelheart long term with no need to remove it for cleaning. I have gone well over 30 days without it being removed at all. Similar to Tom's post, I installed a shower head with a hand wand attachment (see below for example). Soak up everything, and then use the hand wand to rinse it thoroughly. Then, when I get out, I use Q-tips to dry out the inside of the tube, and then I use a drop or two of silicone lube, but, after reading Tom's post, I may try gold bond cream.

Example of handheld shower addition:

Note: This is an example only. This is not the brand I bought. I am not recommending it, have no idea if it is good or bad quality.

This is just my experience, yours can.... and probably will.... vary!

Currently Wearing:Steelheart.
Owns: CB3000, CB6000, Steelheart II, Steelheart, various home-built models.

Silicone, like baby oil, etc, is not water soluble, and will retain body stuff which will grow bacteria resulting in that funky smell. It's a lot easier to clean hand cream.

Also, I go to bed without drying my cage. It has never seemed to be a problem for me. The little bit of trapped water isn't there in the morning

Thanks for that post. We’ve been using a stainless open design but I’ve been using silicone lube.
Just a couple drops on the base ring but have always noticed the “funky” smell no matter how well I think I clean.
Guess I’ll try some aveeno instead.
Thanks again.
Sincerely, cb.
