Flat vs Round Base Rings

Does anyone have preference?

Does a flatter ring give a bit more grip than a round section?

I'm presuming most people prefer a curved over a flat ring.

I prefer the ergonomic type. Not too thin. Much comfier for me. My penis if you took a cross section is exactly the same shape as the ring.
Im not at all up on my cock ology. Maybe some cocks are more round like a sausage so round works?
Also a wider ring or double/tripple ring grips better, you'd need to shorten the cage by the same amount mind you.

After modifying two rings with JB Weld, giving them a wider profile, I am of the opinion that more surface area equals less discomfort.

I have both types and honestly don't notice much difference.
