For open cage designs like mcn's contender, should the internal diameter be chosen to lightly touch the flaccid penis, or should there be a tiny amount of expansion room? My flaccid diameter is 1.22 at the shaft and 1.29 at the largest part of the glans. I'm currently in a Steelheart that's 1 3/8 in diameter, which I chose because I wanted a little bit of breathing room since it's an enclosed design. It's comfy for long term wear, but I have no experience with more open designs, and don't know whether 1.25 or 1.375" will be more comfy.
Thoughts?
Internal diameter advice!

1.25" will be better. It should fit like a glove not a mitten.
Re: Internal diameter advice!
MCN was saying:
I myself like a tiny bit of expansion room in my Contender, because it prevents my penis from pressing into/through the gaps between the cage rings and front cage bars when I become aroused. This is a person preference though...some men like and prefer to be "stuffed" into their cages, and the sensations it creates.

Having done some sizing testing of my own I have a jailbird that just touches and I prefer it over the enclosed cb6x. The fact I stay in the jailbird versus sliding around in the cb6 makes a huge difference at night. Rating fully engaged and not allowing the tip of your penis from retracting from the tip of the cage will a make night time erections more pleasant since it will do a better job of containing/preventing an erection. If you have room to grow you run the risk of it sliding off the shaft and the exposed shaft will expand pushing the cage away from you... Making it painful

Do you find this painful because of the ring pulling on your scrotum or because of the partial erection straining in the cage? I have some growing room in my CB-6000s and I've noticed that erections can be painful in my shaft even though I don't have ring issues (which seem to be more common). I'm hoping that a properly fitted JB will alleviate this... Otherwise, I'm worried about long term health based on what I feel...Alini wrote:If you have room to grow you run the risk of it sliding off the shaft and the exposed shaft will expand pushing the cage away from you... When normally flaccid, my cage lightly touches my penis on all sides and in the front. My wife wants to stop my erections because we are into long term orgasm denial and being able to get erect is one of my treats during sex. When I did not have a custom device, even the smallest size left room for me to grow and I was able to get a full erection inside it, which sort of defeated the purpose of the device. My wife loves to tease me and fell my penis bulging out form all the openings of my Jailbird.

Re: Internal diameter advice!
When I sized my Contender recently, I was going to go with a smaller cage diameter too. I had a ring that I could barely pull over the entire length of the shaft. But then MCN gave me the same advice.
I decided to try out the larger diameter by obtained a rubber ring at the hardware store of the correct size. Throughout the day I would pull it over the head and shaft and see how it fit. As we know, the penis will expand and contract throughout the day. The larger ring seemed to work better because it gave just a bit more space, allowing the thicker areas to go through easily. And since I was sizing for a shorter cage, I wanted a bit more room for the extra skin to fall back into.
As it turned out, MCN's advice was absolutely correct. The slightly larger cage diameter works perfectly for my short Contender. I have had no issues with the cage whatsoever and it fits perfectly, providing the control I want while not creating any pinching or excessive pressure against the cage.

My problem was the base ring would drag and pull along the base of the shaft and pinch the scrotum skin until the base ring was compressing my testiclesChastityNoob wrote:Do you find this painful because of the ring pulling on your scrotum or because of the partial erection straining in the cage? Re: Internal diameter advice!
Seems like most people have pain or discomfort from the ring... I've managed to find a combination with the CB6000s that doesn't give me any issues with the ring, but erections can be painful in my shaft. My theory is that the growing room (1/2 inch or so) allows me to have a partial erection, and a partially erect penis fighting against a rigid cage gets sore. I'm hoping that a fitted jailbird will do a better job of stopping an erection altogether and alleviate the soreness problem...Alini wrote:My problem was the base ring would drag and pull along the base of the shaft and pinch the scrotum skin until the base ring was compressing my testicles
Anyone have a similar experience with shaft soreness as opposed to pain from the ring?
