Multiple devices, edema problems in all

I'm a new member (introduction in the Hello world thread) and the chastity dynamics is fairly new in our relationship - she holds the key, but we're not in a d/s relation.

I have a foreskin, and have tried the CB6000 / CB6000S / CB3000 and HolyTrainer with 45/50 mm rings. Yes we both like the dynamics and we've spent quite a bit to find the perfect device.

So far, we were unlucky - in every device I get serious edema problems - the skin being close to a 1 cm or 1/4 inch thick. This problem has been addressed before and solutions like custom made devices or a circumcision are advised.

We are both in our forties, this sparked the love life again, but my wife associates metal custom cages too much with BDSM, and TBH, me too.

A circumcision is a minor operation and we both enjoy the new found sex life way to make this a serious option. Please advise if this a good option.

I'm having trouble trying to figure out what your issue is, your description of skin being "thick" does not fit the term 'edema', and, in addition, one cm is nowhere near equal to 1/4 inch, being off by a factor of more than 50%. Edema is an issue of fluid being retained *under* the skin, not a thickening of the skin. You are going to have to describe your problem more accurately if you hope to get an answer that has any chance of being useful to you.

I don't think I understand the "thick" thing either... Maybe it's puffing up that much?

Anyway... Unfortunately, it seems you are in need of a more open device and the only way you will get that is with a Curve (but you need to fit in that big of a device) or a steel device.

I, too, used to think "oh hell no are we getting a hardcore scary metal device" but I'll tell ya... Damn if it isn't the sexiest thing ever and just seeing it on him is a huge turn on. It might be worth getting a cheap steel device from somewhere like dhgate or even Amazon and trying it out... Then decide if it's "too much."

My apologies, English is not my first language.

I use the stocking method to get my penis in the cage. I've tried it with the foreskin covering the tip and pulling it backwards to avoid the skin reaching the tip of the case. It takes just one erection to force the foreskin into the tip of the cage.

For some reason the skin starts to swell. At first, it was just a little. Flacid, the foreskin is about 2 mm thick, this gets as bad as 10 mm (my conversion into inches was not accurate). It takes about a day before the foreskin swelling has gone. It wasn't really bad in the CB6000, but when wearing the 3000 I had to cut the lock right away.

There is no pain, it's a bit red, but it looks really bad. In my language an edema is fluids stuck in a body part. It might not be the right word. Basically the foreskin is massively swollen everytime.

Thanks for the serious replies. Lady M, we have just entered this world and I think it is important that we respect each others limits. For now steel is not an option.

I was also confused also. When you have a problem too much information can seldom happen. You gave us the devices you've tried, great. What is your flaccid size? This measurement would be the diameter. If the devices are too small, diameter wise, this could be part of your problem.
Are you using any lube around the head area? If not, maybe it's a friction problem. Plastic will grip you tight, so a lube might help.

I don't think anyone doubted that it was an honest question, we just couldn't quite see what it was that you were trying to get at. I think we've got the picture now.

Unfortunately, since I lack that bit of extra skin I have no experience that would enable me to offer guidance with this particular problem. I think that there are some members who might be more suitably equipped to offer advice, but not everyone visits as often as I tend to, you'll have to be patient. In the meantime, if you use the forum search function with the term "foreskin", you might turn up something that could be helpful to you.

I am like you and don't try a circumcision. I did it late in life and they botched it so I still have a foreskin when flaccid bu not when erect. They said I kept getting hard during the surgery and even ice did not help. I know now that they should have gave me female hormones for a few weeks before the surgery but I did not want to go through that pain a second time.

Many will say to use the tightest ring you can take without cutting off blood supply. I believe in using the largest ring that will not let my balls slip out. I wear 24/7 and a custom device and I had skin problems that I thought were from too tight a ring but ended up being too small a gap. Once the gap was increased, that problem went away for a few months but then the ring felt too tight some of the time so I had it enlarged. Now I have a perfect fit and no skin issues but it took 5 devices and a few round trips of my Jailbird to get it right. I also lube under the ring and cage a few times a day using a quality silicone lube called Gun Oil. The lube I was using before seemed to not agree with my skin so I switched over to Gun Oil. A large bottle lasts me a very long time because the stuff so slick that I have a hard time getting my device on since it leaves my hands very slippery.

Also, don't be fanatical about being locked up every minute of every day. Give your skin a break once in a while, whether it be during a shower and maybe an hour or two afterwards. I can go days without taking mine off but it was not always that way.

This is probably the best advice you'll get.

You've probably fantasized about chastity and how it should be; unfortunately reality can be very different. Especially when first starting there is a break-in period that body parts are adjusting to their new environment.

Thank you very much for these helpful replies. I admit that we both like it a lot and I feel comfortable wearing it at night (I don't wake up during a erection). The enthusiasm took it a little over the edge when I developed physical discomfort.

We are new to this, enjoying it and took it a step too far perhaps. Some people who are middle aged and are committed in long relationships understand the excitement of a resparked sexual life. It is big fun, My wife loves her Tiffany key, I like the devices. This is not something that we've fantasised a lot before and we have a common sense to stop when it feels bad.

I was considering a circumcision anyway and was curious if this play would benefit too

We've tried it all. Sadly, no matter what we do, the swollen foreskin remains. We take it easy, the device goes off during the nights, but that doesn't stop the physical problems.

We're two consenting adults with no d/s relation and have decided to go for the circumcision early august. I know, it might sound odd, but we've discussed this thoroughly, understand that a "sacrifice" like this must be built on a foundation of trust and commitment and have decided to move forwards.

Is this the solution? No idea. If others are interested, I'll post updates. I have undergone serious operations which were life threatening. For me, this is a small sep, but I hope a giant leap forwards in the game we both love.
