Where do the nocturnal erections go?

Although there are already some topics about nocturnal erections, I couldn't find an answer to my specific question.

When I started wearing a CD during the night a couple of months ago, I woke up 4 or 5 times per night due to an uncomfortable attempted erection. After several weeks, this became less frequent.
During the last two weeks or so, I mostly only woke up once and one or two nights twice. This was mostly around 5AM, so I guess my sleep was not so deep anymore.
Last night, for the first time I didn't wake up at all due to an erection.

My question is as follows: Is my body gradually getting used to the attempted erections and simply not waking up any more OR is the subconscious part of my brain learning that it's no use fighting the cage and simply isn't trying anymore ?

I am really curious what is actually happening but apart from sleeping without sheets and having an infrared camera pointed to the relevant parts I don't think there is a way to find out, is there?

Seriously though, my guess is they generally subside. Your body learns it's not going to work and gives up. That's just a guess and just speaking for myself, based on the fact that they do occasionally wake me up from time to time. Either I'm only awoken when I'm already sleeping lightly or they aren't there the rest of the time.

I Wake up a couple of times each night but only because I have to pee. Seems like anytime I post, I mention how old I am, but again I'm old. I can't imagine what it would be like to wear a cage when I was back in my 20s and 30s. I think it would be a whole different experience being locked back then. The morning erection about half seven remained, that's the last and massive. Sometimes it is one erection about 5 in the morning, depending on how much I drank liquids.
