I am still in the finding the right cage phase of this journey. I have spent quite a lot of time caged since the end of September when we started down this path. The first lock up was 35 days/33 with no orgasm. Then I got frustrated with life and everything else going on, I told my wife I wanted out and she obliged. Then after about 2 weeks, I was miserable and wanted to be locked again. K (my wife) left me free range for 26 days before agreeing to lock me back up. Went approx 3 weeks and had to remove due to severe chafing and sores developing. This leads me to my question here... At first I was locked in the Cobra small. Fits well, but kinda got in the way of certain activities (i.e., mostly the gym). Had heard that the smaller the cage the better, so got Cobra nano. Problem is the skin seems to be squeezed out of the cage and get irritated, plus developed chafing on the back of my scrotum.
Is is better to wear a cage that "fits" properly (not squeezed into it) or should I maybe opt for a closed style cage. I'm an average sized guy, about 5.5 inches. Might get to 6 on a good day. Is there a better option? The small gets in the way sometimes, but the nano seems to cause issues with sores...
Is "the smaller the better" always the best option
Re: Is "the smaller the better" always the best option
When we started this journey i used handcream as lubricant to ease the chafing of the metal on skin, which over time I used less snd less and now hardly use it.
Accornding to the size guides I should wear an 8cm cage, however I am cureentlu wearing a 2cm, but have a 3 and 4 cm, all steel and all easy to wear, but with very differe t sensations, the 2cm one is very small for me and there's a fair bit of bulging, which isn't an issue if I wear the right underwear, I normally use boxers but for some reason the sizing is dufferent depending on the shop, i find the larger, looser size create less rubbing.
I also keep my foreskin puled partly back otherwise it would bulge through and get sore, (that also helps with hygiene)
Finally ring size is critical, after experimenting right at the start of this journey with a plastic cb6000 copy which comes with multiple rings I found a good size and stuck to it.
Hope that helps, theres a lots of useful comments on here in the various threads so have a browse

I don't know about always, but I would say in most case smaller is better.
Issues are mainly caused by growing attempts or swing or the cage just getting in the way.
Basically if there is no room to grow there will be less issues.
So if you start off compressed and half or quarter your size there shouldn't be an issue with growth.
A smaller cage fits down there easier, neater and moves around less.
The ring makes a difference of course. Even with the smallest of cages if the ring allows itself to slide down your ball sack it can cause discomfort and burning sensations.
You end up with an erection with a cage and ring at the end of it. That is a bad fit indeed.
This is mainly due to size, and that can be as little as half a mil difference. But sometimes its about weight also.
Too much weight and the whole lot travels away from from your body allowing behind the ring to swell outwards.
A good fitting ring with small cage would cause you erection to grow inwards and upwards.
I have used 3d printed rings with metal cages to reduce weight and to get exact sizes. They also grip better than nice shiney metal rings.
I have found that wrapping the steel ring allows better grip as well as a small internal diameter change. Win win.
The rubber tube works well with hinged rings.
Sports bandage is good with solid rings (tan colour, not blue, blue is too rough).
In members area there is a "shocking truth about cage sizes" that might help give an idea.
My normal was 2.5" but is now cage is now 1" (2.5cm) manufacturer has me marked for a five inch cage.
Since going even smaller, thingsbhave got even comfier.

Mr. Pickle, you’re a genius. I’ve trying to figure out how to fine tune my ring size by just a slight bit. I’m going to try this asap.Sports bandage is good with solid rings (tan colour, not blue, blue is too rough).
Maybe we should rethink your title.
