I am the same way. While I have a vise I will be sending it back. When I ordered my device from them I was using measurements off of a cb-x. So I ordered two rings. Unfortunately I should've not ordered the bigger one and gone the other direction. So at the same time I send my device back I will probably order that other ring. If any one wants to buy a 1 3/4 round ring with a 1/4gap let me know.WifeIsVanilla wrote:Forherdesire - I have read of other folks in addition to cagedog changing the shape of the ring using a vice, but given my lack of experience with such things and not having a vice, i was happy to leave the adjustment of my expensive toy to its inventor. Not to mention that you need to be careful because changing the shape of the ring affects the gap so you have to send the device back with the ring so that William can tweak the gap appropriately. I had the device back in about a week, $10 plus Priority Mail both ways.

Re: Mature Metal oval ring.
I prefer the oval ring. Anatomically it just fits me better.
Unless you are confident doing either of these adjustments I would recommend sending it back to MM for adjustments. I'm sure William at MM can do these adjustments in his sleep and the results will be a lot more precise than the results that most people would get doing it on their own. The cost is minimal in comparison with the cost of the device.
I sent a device in for adjustments and got it back in 21 days (8 of those days was the time it took with international shipping just to get to MM, + time for return shipping).
"Forherdesire": Rather than sell your oversized ring, send it back to MM to resize it. For $10.00 MM can make resize any ring as long as you are requesting a smaller size. You need to send the cage with the ring so they can also adjust the gap ($10.00 charge). You will save $20.00 on the cost of a new ring.
While you can use a vise to round off a oval ring (or to make a round ring, oval) be aware if you do that you will affect the gap on your device. Making a oval ring round will reduce the gap, and the opposite it will increase the gap if you make a round ring, oval. You can use a vice to adjust the gap by bending the post on the ring.Forherdesire wrote:

Re: Mature Metal oval ring.
Thank you for some good information. Why I didn't think about having the larger ring resize I don't know. As to everything else I am going to try for about another week and see how things settle in and make a decision by Friday. Hopefully it is not a case of the grass is greener on the other side.newtochast57 wrote:I prefer the oval ring. Anatomically it just fits me better.

Re: Mature Metal oval ring.
I get exactly the same way but still prefer the oval ring. I had MM increase my fing by 1/8th of an inch and that made it go from almost painful to mild discomfort but I rather put up with that for brief periods of time in return for a device I can actually wear all the time for years.
Re: Mature Metal oval ring.
I had trouble with the oval ring...after a few days wear I would develop "hot spots" (sores) at several locations around the ring...with one location being the worst. I used a vice and some rubber pads to prevent the ring from twisting sideways while I worked (and also to protect the ring), and iterated until I was able to eventually get it into round. Gradually ramp up the force and check the ring often until you get a feel for how much it takes to get it to start to round.
I still get a hot spot in the one location, but all the other hot spots have resolved and I find the round ring to be more comfortable. It seems that on one side I have a little more skin trying to fit between the two rings and the gap is just a little to small for that one spot. I plan to send my device back to have the gap size increased slightly.

Re: Mature Metal oval ring.
So I wanted to give an update to my original posting where I had two sore spots after morning wood a couple days in a row. Since that posting i have still been testing the device preparing what looks like will be a minimum of a 6 month lock up. Last time we used a CB6ks device for almost 4 months when my wife wanted a break. Since then we had tried several cheap Chinese knockoffs. Anyhow while still not sleeping throughout the night yet during the last couple of morning have had no sore spots where I had talked about before. The only thing I had was a little friction chaff this morning. I think that is a lack a lube in one spot then anything else. So all in all it looks like I am going to keep the device exactly as it is but eventually send my larger ring to get resized as the need warrants it.

Re: Mature Metal oval ring.
Oval ring for me, never had a different one from the outset, bar the initial CB3000 which is also not perfectly round. I have had no problem with teh base ring being oval (not that I ever tried the round), and since I have basically been in permanent chastity 24/7 over the past 7 months, with only a few "free" occasions, oval seems quiet natural, so much so that I mostly forget I am wearing a JB.
Sizing is a obviously a very important part of permanent chastity, because it "better fit right - if its not coming off"...and I guess its a personal, or anatomical "choice"..
