I'm on vacation, and am using my Nook for a tablet, so bear with me re: typos and links.
I have biked in my 3k on an upright styled townie/hybrid bike. I have also used a split saddle on lonber rides (Hobson EZ seat, original model). It was not comfortable on my road bike with a standard, firm seat. I have not tried a split road saddle, but I found the ISM Adamo, which looks to be a good possibility, if a bit pricey.
I shouls probably write up a long post about cycling and put it in the FAQ.

The village librarians avoid me though. (Might be because of the sort of novels I edit, not specifically that I edit. I donated a book to the library, signed by the editor, and they will not put it on the shelf.)
