A271,2,3 gap at tip

Post by crated51 » Wed Nov 27, 2019 7:10 am

Observation: the end bars can be squeezed together slightly to reduce the gap -- from 10mm+/- down to 6mm +/-. For me, makes the overall function more comfortable.

End bars? Do you mean the front of the cage, the part that looks like an observatory roof?

Yes, although maybe like minimal observation roof.

It seems to me that 5 or 6 mm would be the narrowest width possible without breaking a weld

LOL

I happen to like my A272, and the cage end is even easier to use than the modifications I made on my CB3000. I hadn't thought about squeezing the ends, but I can see some circumstances in which that would work.

Never quite put the two together . . . but you're right. Including the "telescope" within.

Good "observation"

For a point of clarification if it was not clear, squeezing the bars together to narrow the gap should ONLY be attempted with the cage off. :D
