I can say from experience that metimes the issues that people have with the hinged rings is not the ring itself but the hinge's pin which is often not made of something comaptable with long term contact with one's skin. I have had some of the magic locks seize up or fail to work whatever you might want to call it. Once I had ordered and received a replacement I used a pair of carpenters pincers to squeeze the moving part of the lock into line with the nonm oving part and inserted a key to help pull it out. My immediate thought is get a PA or look at the Lori antipullout device .... maybe adapting something of your own for your existing cage might be less expansive alternative to buying a lori

BTW, Lori's has a ring on a hinge that seems to work well, according to those who have tried it. I've heard nothing but good things about this security device on a Lori.
