Jailbird base ring

Hello all, I am currently in the process of sizing a jailbird and I was curious if anyone has any experience with a triple or quad base ring? I currently have a ht-v4 nub and my wife decided that it is time to upgrade and after wearing the sizing rings from jailbird and going back and forth in an email thread a few times I think I have decided on at least a triple ring possibly a quad but I am curious if anyone has any experience with this and if so did you have to go up a size in base ring when you added the rings to the back I believe I need a 1-3/4 inch base ring and I have worn 3 ro 4 rings stacked behind eachother in order from 1-3/4 to 2in and I'm just worried that if I had 3 or 4 rings the same size it may be a little tighter and might require me to go up to a 1-7/8inch base ring. My single ring seems to be just fine for me. I’m pretty high and tight. Previous lower priced cages I’ve worn, had wider base rings and all they did was add weight. No value that I could see. Sorry cannot be of any help at all! But wanted to be sure you got a reply. Cheers.

Forget the size, I’m trying to imagine what that would weigh.

Assuming he uses the 1/4” roundbar he uses on his single and double rings (I have a 2” single and double), a quadruple will weigh in at (let’s see multiply by .875.. carry the one), holy crap, 167 g, about 6 oz.

That’s almost exactly what my 2 3/4” Spyder with a 2” ring at 1 1/2” ID weighs.. like a gram less.

That’s going to be one heavy cage. You sure you want to do this? I’m not sure what size cage you need but I don’t see how it’s not going to be coming in at over half a pound.

I ended up going with a triple base ring and according to maturemetal the first two rings will be at 1-3/4 and the third ring will be 1-13/16.
Cage diameter of 1-3/8 and length 1-1/2 and while I have thought of the weight issue my scrotum hangs very low and i am hoping that regardless of weight the extra rings will help hold everything in place. In the past I have had an issue with any other cages basically falling down tell the point that my balls would ultimately stop them which in turn made me basically fall out of the back this caused me to find very supportive underwear that hold everything tightly against my body. I currently wear a holy trainer v4 nub and while it is rather comfortable I still have to fully support it with underwear or it falls down to the end of my scrotum. I am hoping to eliminate the extra room for movement by taking up the extra scrotum with the triple base ring per maturemetal and i figured if nothing else I could always have one taken off or remove the ring my self if need be but making a triple ring myself would be very difficult/not cost effective given i don't have a stainless welding setup so I opted to try the triple from the start and figured if I had to send it back for an adjustment, although I'm really hoping I don't have to they could always remove the third if the weight was just too much.

Btw, you'll likely want another one so you have one to wear if you ever need to send it into the shop for adjustments lol
