Single Vs Double MM Rings

Post by JetMirage »

Hey, all!

Is there anyone here who has gone from a normal round base ring from Mature Metal and switched to one of their oval or double base rings? I was thinking of just getting mine resized to be a wee bit smaller, but now it seems my options are expanded. I know the larger contact area with the double ring probably makes it more secure and comfortable, but does it add too much weight? Is there a substantial difference between the round rings and the oval rings?

Thank you for your help. :)

Can't comment on round vs oval since all my experience is with an oval but I do have a single and a double base ring. I like them both and switch between both. I would have to say that I favor the double over the single. The double does add a little bit more weight but nothing that really matters. I just overall like the feel of the added width and I admit that I feel a bit more secure with the double. I thought that it might be more difficult to get the double on but it hasn’t been a problem so far.
Happily secured since 4/2010 :-)

Never had a single...started out with the oval double, and it was quite comfortable. For me, keeping it lubed maximizes comfort...I often forget I'm wearing it until my wife triggers an erection...which she loves to induce (or I wake up from the pain of one).
I'm not a gynecologist, but I'll take a very close look.

Here is a random (or not lol) question a double ring that the OP may want to think about too...

Could going from a single ring to double effect the sizing of things any?

I ask because it seems to me that even with it going around the balls, you're possibly pushing everything around by another 1/4 inch or so. Plus how does the extra weight really effect it? Does it act as a better counter balance to the cage to help keep it from "sliding forward"? So if you have a tight/short cage already maybe it makes it too tight/short?

Second the denythumper link - lots of good info there.

Speaking from experience - went double ring and it was much better than single. Wouldn't ever go back...
