23 years ago I came out of a major 8 hour colon surgery. 57 staples from my pelvis to my sternum. High on morphine and convinced Mrs. G to make sure everything still worked properly.

I don't carry an emergency key with me. I do have one in the house if need be but it's frozen in a block of ice (inside a mason jar). It would definitely take some work to get to. I have no idea where my wife has the regular keys. She's not a big fan of wearing jewelry, so it's just hidden somewhere in the house

I highly recommend no emergency key.

Interesting situation. Some months back she didn’t want to get her key from her her purse for some activities. She just opened the emergency key. She never would reseal it. When I inquired about her leaving it out she simply said.
