upgrading to steelworxx

Post by kunst »

After having tried a few cheap cages, and having built my own, I am almost ready to consider upgrading to a steelworkxx product. However, I have some concerns that arise from my last trial: the cage that fits better for me till now is this
http://tinyurl.com/o3gxm8f
The size or the ring (in my case is 50mm) is perfect, I cannot get out and I have no pain or blue balls; the size of the cage as well is good, maybe a bit too long.
Problem is that when I sleep it happens that when I have morning erections the skin sticks to the bars and the shaft pushes forward; in this way the bars compress the skin (with pain) and when I remove the cage I see the bars shape impressed on the skin and sometimes there is some blood (sorry but it is difficult for me to explain in English, I hope you can understand).
I found a solution that is using a nylon stocking around the shaft that fits it, and in the morning I have no pain because the nylon contains the skin and avoid too much pressure from the bars. I cut the top of the stocking to allow pissing, even if I did not try to piss yet (I remove the stocking in the morning).
Now, if I buy a steelworkxx product, will I have this problems?
I was thinking buying a crossfire or a steelheart 2. Do you think that the skin can rub against the metal? I know that there are no bars, but I am afraid the skin could stick to the metal and the shaft press forward, having similar problems. I could use lube, but during the night it evaporates.
What is your experience?

I think you would be fine if you order the correct diameter tube. I believe Steelworxx can do 3 or 4 different widths (diameter) for the chastity tube on a Steelheart. Plus, the tube is smooth/solid on a Steelheart, instead of cage style, so your skin won't push out between the bars causing you discomfort.

I have a regular Steelheart and do not have the issues you mention, though I do have some extra room in diameter when I'm flaccid. It's tight when I try to get erect in the tube, but it is not a problem. As they say, "your mileage may vary".

Thanks.
Do you know what is intended with total length in steelworxx website? I mean, if you take a rigid rule and measure the diagonal you obtain a different result from measuring the tube lenght with a flexible rule that follows the curvature. Which of the two?

It follows the curve of the device all the way from tip through inside of a-ring. That said, if you take a straight measure of your penis from base to tip you should be okay. I did that, and added maybe 2-3mm for my Steelheart.

The FAQ page diagrams it for you, scroll down the page: http://steelworxx.de/FAQ-s-21i.html?xPr ... 2ergfk1fa0

Thanks again for your suggestions.
About tube diameter.
I built 2 rings, one 35mm and the other 38mm diameter. Now, when flaccid, if I try to insert the smaller on the shaft, I have to push it, especially towards the base where is almost too narrow (my shaft is not a cylinder,it is more similar to a cone). The larger is loose towards the tip but fits well on the base side of the shaft. Should I go for the 38mm diameter?

Tough to say. I knew to go with less diameter moving from a thick plastic CB ring. I based this on what Thumper reported on his blog. I went from about 45mm on the CB to 42mm on the Steelheart. I'm pretty sure I could go down to 41mm or possibly 40mm and be okay. I'm not sure how your homemade rings will translate to the smooth Steelworxx rings.

My one piece of advice would be to order 2 or 3 rings as you'd have to send the whole device back to Dietmar to have more rings crafted.

Hi danj,
sorry but maybe I did not stress enough that I was talking about tube diameter, not base ring!
About the ring, I am sure I need 50mm. I have a metal device, and with 45mm I get blue balls.

My bad, missed the word "tube". I think that is more of a personal preference issue. My Steelheart is 35mm and I have some room when flaccid (I'm not thick), and I like the extra room in an enclosed device like the Steelheart. It allows for easier cleaning and I'm comfortable in it.

I would not want that extra room in a cage style device like a JailBird. If I have easy access for cleaning, I don't need the extra space.

I think I will go for the 38mm, I am quite thick.
One thing is that I do not think I need the integrated lock. This is because sometimes I want to wear the cage without a lock, just with a zip tie. Do you think I will have problem selling it without this accessory, in case I need to sell for any reason (I hope not BTW)?

It probably doesn't make that much of a difference on resale. It will sell for less but you also will have paid less for it. Having said that, I strongly recommend the integrated lock. It is really nice and much lower profile than the padlock option. Why would you want to lock it with just a zip tie?

One thing that you really want to get as an option is the comfort ring on the tube. It isn't that expensive and is worth every bit that it costs.
