Advice on type/style, and size of cage i should be looking at?

Afternoon people,

I have had a few different types of cages which I've tried and believe i can come back to later when more experienced but from my original plastic cage (that probably won't ever get worn again as it was way to big and uncomfortable) all the way down to a metal flat cage.

At the moment my most comfortable one is my HoD S107 small with a 45mm hinged ring. I do have a couple issues with this though.

1. once its been in for about 30 mins and I'm fully flaccid again i only fill half of the cage at most (im only about 1.5-1.75 inches flaccid and about 4.5-5inches erect and not very girthy either) but if im semi flaccid im okay and i can urinate fine as well, but fully flaccid urinating becomes an issue as I'm uncut and the excess skin gets in the way

2. When i need a we and flaccid i have to pull the skin back each time which I'm then almost at the point i can pull out which isn't ideal.


I have ordered a new cage which is of similar design but with a 304 stainless steel urethal tube and is about 5mm short in length also with a 41mm hinged ring. I have used a cage with a metal urethal tube but is one that is basically flat, unfortunately can only wear it for a few hours at a time.

Any advice, tips and/or suggestions would be muchly appreciated.

I'm about 5" flacid and 8" erect and can wear the flat with urethral for a couple of weeks. Longer if tood to no doubt.
My now regular cage is the same size as your ordered one. I always have uretheral. That one I could wear permanently. It is in fact very comfortable.
My prefered cage is bigger, but I dont get the choice.
Id say the cage you have ordered is as big as you should go.
Not sure about the urethral design mind you. Cant tell what width it is, and they work better with a flared base. They can be modified with tube.

Interesting design though. I like it.

So I'm not sure and i don't think it is but the length of my current I think is the 2 furthest points and not taking into account the curve so i feel it's actually a bit longer than what it actually says as it says 55mm long and could actually be 60-65mm long in which case the new one could be 10-15mm shorts as doesn't have as much of a curve but we'll soon see when it arrives and I'll update.

The biggest problem with small hinged ring devices I’ve found is actually getting them on. You need at least five hands each with seven fingers and two thumbs and then usually you’ll pinch something “hard” and end up bleeding like the proverbial stuck pig !! Love them once they’re on but man they take some work. Not sure if the urethral tube would help or hinder !!

Love them once they’re on but man they take some work. Not sure if the urethral tube would help or hinder !!

So I've had this current hinged and flat hinged one for a few months and I've managed quite well to get them on and off without trapping anything, i was finding whilst sleeping it'd pinch in places but i was fitting ht lead to my bike and they had excess heat shrink so cut some off and put it onto this current one and its fixed that issue and every night so far (4 nights touch wood) i haven't woken up in pain from pinching or pulling from night time erections. So I'll do the same with the new one and my other hinged rings.

The heat shrink helps hold it in place as well and not to open to far when putting it on which i found helped.

Yep heat shrink does do a good job, used it myself on one but now I’ve got “old man soft skin” and am struggling to wear any device without developing abrasions and sores unfortunately.

Update, fitted the new cage about 3 hours ago still have a bit of sensation there with the new tube where its longer than the flat one i had, other than that feels really comfortable. Only one concern i have is going for a wee, managed go successfully but stopping i might be an issue as 20+mins after going i still feel like I'm going every now and again so not sure if its just the sensation or not.

If the urethra is constricted too much, you might have an issue with not emptying completely.

My doc recently discussed this with me due to my having had two UTIs this year, saying it was a possibility due to prostate enlargement. I haven't been caged for a while, so that isn't the cause for me. You might want to check that out- take some volume measurements while you are not caged, then repeat when you *are* caged and see if the volume is reduced when caged.

I actually think that *my* UTI issue is a result of heat and a bad habit of only drinking coffee, resulting in dehydration, which can cause it.

I just prefer metal cages for their weight and looks, and depending on the one you pick, they can breath better.
I had one with a round "pee" hole, but it was too hard to shoot through the hole and was messier than the one with the more open slot.
