It was good to get out yesterday. Warm, sunny, dry, not too humid and a slight breeze.

We went for a good walk of about 5 miles, maybe a bit more. It was shady and cool under the trees in the forest and hardly a soul about (where is everyone?) as we wandered along various routes. Once home, car parked up and another walk for us (along the busy main road unfortunately) but with a nice pub to look forward to and a pint or two of Aspall's cider to refresh us. I was planning to go into work today, catch up with a few people etc.
With the forecast showing temperatures of 30C or more I've decided to stay home. I can do what I need to do here, the catching up can be done with a few phone calls, and I'll miss out all the unpleasant travelling into the city.

An early start then and an early finish, with time to enjoy the sunshine, maybe even get out for another little walk and a pint of Aspall's on the way back. Or stay home and keep cool indoors. I don't mind either way.

When I say early start, I mean early and I've been working already since about 5. The room was warm and I woke early, unable to drift off to sleep again because of being hard, so got up and made a start on the day. Working from home does indeed have its benefits and I'll be doing so again today. Not because of the weather, but because of what my work involves.
