I think Emmie is slowly evolving as a key holder.
And is looking for what works best for her and you.
And by trying everything, such as forbidding things and giving short commands.
You see that she is turning into a person you never thought she had in her.
But everyone has hidden talents that emerge when they try something out.

As the saying goes:
If you never try it you won't know if it's for you.
And maybe Emmie will eventually bring out something in you that you wouldn't have thought about, that's something for me.

And I'm just back from a one word command as well. "Come".
Turns out she needed sun cream on her back...

Forbidding things, short commands, training, consequences, rules, frustration... none of it is easy.
But it will work!
I'm not giving up that easily.

A tiring day at work and now I need to be careful this evening. I didn't move forward towards my target unlock day over the weekend. Two days of standing still. At least I didn't go backwards.

Emmi's new chart system has taken my focus off of an end date than can be extended (was 1st June).
Instead I see a mass of empty squares, each representing a day until I get unlocked.
One night per square...

Success in that yesterday counted as a day ticked off towards 'Unlock Day'. Hooray!
A shame that both days over the weekend didn't count. A punishment for minor misdemeanours.

Maybe I came close to trouble in the night, when I unexpectedly and unintentionally thumped the mattress again. But it wasn't that huge “Wap Wap Wap!” thumpage of a few days ago, just a single slamming down of my hand, once, before remembering that it was not a good thing to do. Fortunately that one slap did not disturb Miss Emmie. It was, of course caused by a nocturnal that wouldn't go away and was keeping me awake. In other words, pure undiluted frustration.

Today I am off to the office again for another busy day. Gives my mind something else to focus on for a few hours. Also allows Miss Emmie some time to get ready for our guests who are coming to see us on Friday evening. She will be sorting out things in the house and planning a meal and all. Probably better that I am out of the way and she can get on.
