Transition to steel cage questions

Post by coilsbitch »

I have always used the 'plastic' style devices. CBx and HT versions. I just got a new HT3 small the other day. The intention is for my wife to keep me locked up as she sees fit (which is most all the time). Anyway, I am a bit lost on where to start with the steel ones and have several questions. Before I did that I figured I would ask this one.

Is there a good FAQ, or guide to that might answer those questions to educate myself some?

Pretty much “all of thumper’s site” :). He has a silly amount of reviews on there. That’ll give you a lot of detail on sizing, what worked for him what didn’t, and so on.

If only there were some kind of web forum where you could ask people who had tried them.

Peruse the Chastity Devices section. The move to steel sounds intimidating but it’s really not. Generally easier to keep clean too.

Also involve your wife in the process. Back when we transitioned from plastic to stainless steel their were not the options which are out there now. Going steel was a $350.00+ move and for that I wanted my wife in on the decision. I was very surprised at her reaction as she said she thought that was a good idea and metal would be much more sanitary than plastic so let's look at them together. I remember sitting at the computer looking with her at the different models on the Mature Metal website. She's pointing out the +/-'s of each of the different styles. I thought at the time that this was a good idea getting her involved in the process. It was like we were buying a dishwasher. 😂

Okay, seriously.
Go to DHGate.com or aliexpress.com and search for male chastity belts. You'll be overwhelmed with the choices, so concentrate on the ones that look like the one you have now. If anything looks interesting, copy and paste the links here, and our panel of experts will be happy to weigh in.

My personal opinion is to look at these 4 models with ridiculous names:
A271/A272 (solid tube cage), and A273/A274 (open ring style cage)

These styles feature a "telescope observatory" style tip, making it easy to line up to urinate, and on the solid style, to flush out for cleaning. All feature integrated locks, and seem to be made from decent 304 stainless steel. They offer 3 different cuff ring sizes.

Look around here for my A272 review. Also, I have a few blog posts tagged with A272:

I have a few blog posts tagged for other devices, as well.

I've got links to other reviews and stuff in the various posts.

Like was said, don't be intimidated by the idea of steel. My preference, and M'Lady's, is the open bar/cage style. I was comfortable in the HTv3 Small so I found a cheap cage with similar specifications. It was a good fit but a bit heavy. As far as being quality stainless steel...don't get a magnet too close to most of the cheap foreign made cages. Shortly after that we bought a preowned MM Jail Bird and sent it in to have a few mods done to it. We were treated no different than had we purchased the Jail Bird new from the company.

If you decide to go the custom steel route there are 2 companies that stand out above the others both for the quality of the products and the fantastic customer service.

I do have a question with those experienced with DHGate and as such. Or rather, a worry I'd like calmed if at all possible.

How worried should people be about the locks? Especially when we're talking about the integrated ones like the one I have on the Holy Trainer which I don't know how I would go about replacing with something quality made. Do they sell these in a HW store? :D

I was thinking about getting a stainless steel variant of the HT v3 (since I'm very happy with the resin version in terms of fit, cleaning, etc, but dislike the material). I have a knockoff and the lock hasn't failed other than needing oiling up once to unlock. Obviously, a padlock can be replaced, and in the resin version, I'm very sure I could just carefully cut the ring even with a freaking steak knife in case of whatever. Obviously with the steel variant it's not so easy. Not that I've ever had a problem - I think I'm looking for reassurance more than dispelling a myth.

Here's a link I was looking at.

First, be aware that the model you're looking at will weigh at least 12 oz. The HT is maybe 4 oz, the other thing is 3/4 of a pound hanging off your tonker. That's some serious weight.

The other thing is that the Chinese locks are mainly crap, even on the better cages. I was able to find the better Chinese locks, and bought some extras. I'd advise anyone unfamiliar with them to buy a good replacement from the HT site or the keptforher.com reseller site.

There's a thread or three around here about those integrated locks.

I'm quite happy with the open cage design I bought from DHGate. I've not had any quality issues and if fits nicely. For me, the ring size is of utmost importance. Can't be too big, can't be too little, although what was too little, I did end up adjusting to. I normally self lock during porn and I've found the erection from porn vs a morning wood erection are quite different. Wow. I wouldn't say pain, but it got my attention. There's not a lot to lose. I personally think the open designs are the best for the light weight and the hygiene. Good luck!
