About to buy a HolyTrainer or CB6000 cage, would welcome some help

Post by Xardas »

I'm new to the entire chastity thing in practice. I fantasized about being locked up and practiced denial without a device (longest was around a month), mostly because these devices a really expensive for me (I'm from Central / Eastern Europe, depending whom you ask). I've been told right as an answer my first post (and I've seen this answer a lot elsewhere anyway), that I should just experiment with cheaper stuff, as the first chastity device will almost never be just right.

Thing is, I've kinda done that: I bought two devices so far. The first one was a dirt cheap (we're talking $25-ish, including shipping) Chinese knockoff of a CB6000 I knew I was buying low quality stuff at that price, I'm not a complete idiot, but since that was my first attempt, I figured I go with the cheapest possible option to see if being in chastity is actually a thing for me or if this is one of those fantasies that will disappoint you when tried for real.

The device was terrible. It had visible (and very much rough to the touch) seamline on the inside of the cage. The cage ring didn't have a flat surface like the online images suggested, instead (I guess to save material) it was indented on both sides, which meant that the skin of my scrotum got caught and pinched terribly. The longest I wore it was about 3 hours, by then it hurt like absolute hell and cause swelling that took like 4 days to completely disappear. Even the lock was crap: the keys weren't a perfect fit and could move around and rattle inside the lock. The device went straight to the trash after that obviously, but at the end of the day, even with such abysmal first experience, I knew I want this. The first half an hour, before the pain really kicked in from the pinching, I loved the feeling, the restraint, everything about it. I wanted more.

so, I decided to go for something a bit more expensive, but potentially not complete garbage. I heard good things about both HolyTrainer and CB6000, but $160-180 (including shipping) was just not feasible at the time. As such I bought a metal, Dominix Deluxe cage (this one, from this exact shop, I hope shop links for illustration purposes are okay...). The quality was there, but the thing was WAAAAY to big for me. Like, when completely flaccid I didn't even reached half of its length, and girth was enough to allow for a partial erection and enough stimuli to orgasm inside without much of an issue. In fact, it was so big that I slipped out of it. And I don't mean I could escape from it, I mean I put it on, went for a walk, felt that something in there was funny, pulled down my pants when I got home to see that my actual penis was outside of the cage and it was just hanging on my balls, which I could free easily with a slight pull. That, after it took me like 15 damn minutes to somehow squeeze myself into it. I was not impressed and decided against such close base ring devices in the future.

So, I figured I want to buy either a CB6000 or a HolyTrainer one, since I've heard great things of both and I really didn't like the weight and the pull of the metal cage. Plus the way the lock rattled against the cage with every step was terribly obnoxious (use a small string to fix it in place pretty much immediately).

After a lot of research (seriously, I spent literal days going through everything from buyer reviews, through Tumblr post - before Tumblr went to shit - to watching guides on PornHub), I figured HolyTrainer would be a better fit. From what I understand the material is a bit flexible, which makes dealing with the initial nocturnal erection easier, it has a built in lock, so no rattling, the mechanism is metal-free, so I can pass through security checks with it, so yeah, seemed like the better idea. Now I have second guesses though, since CB6000 might be less ideal, BUT it comes with a set of rings, instead of a single one. If I mess up the ring size with HolyTrainer, I gotta fork over another $50 for a damn ring, which is absurdly overpriced and I simply don't have that kinda money. It took me the better part of a year to save up the $180 for this device to begin with (shipping included). As such custom crafted cages for like $300-400 are obviously out of the question.

The only thing I know is that the Dominix cage had a 45mm ring, and as I said I slipped out of it with ease, granted the cage itself was too big as well, but still, I guess this means that 45mm is too big for me. I tried the string method on the Holytrainer website, but bleh, that's garbage. Based on that I'd need a 60mm ring, which is obviously ridiculous. So I'm tempted to buy the 40mm ring, but I'm a bit afraid, because if it's too small, I can't afford.

I'm unsure about the length as well. Like, when completely flaccid I'm about 5cm, when at full mass, about 13.5cm. Probably a bit shorter when flaccid, since I'm not circumcised, so my foreskin just kinda hangs below where my actual penis ends.

Based on all the above I'm thinking about buying the Small HolyTrainer V3 with a 40mm ring, but knowing how long it took to get the money for this, I'm kinda afraid of actually pulling the trigger on it. Like, should I go for the nano (I heard some claiming that I should take a good 12-ish mm off of my actual size to accommodate for the rings and whatnot, in which case the nano is closer) a smaller or larger ring? Or maybe I should just go for the short version of CB6000 and play it safe with the multiple base rings? Honestly the lock rattling and getting stuck in way that it would eat into my inner thighs kinda make me not wanting to do that, but if I fuck up with the ring on the HolyTrainer, I cannot buy a replacement for a good while and as such I'm here with yet another useless piece of plastic...

I know this is a long post, but I wanted to give as much info as I could (and I tend to be bit long-winded anyways). I'd really appreciate some advice.

Maybe try some of the devices on DHGate.com? These are Chinese made but my first example, an A271, was surprisingly high quality. Not to the degree of a Steelworxx device (I have 2 of those now), but excellent for the price (~US$11.00). I'm in my A271 now and it is so much better than the cb-6000s I started out with years ago. I tried the cb-6000s again a month or two ago just for the heck of it. It was just plain awful compared to the steel devices I'm in almost everyday now.

As for the A271, I'm impressed. I do need a larger ring than the 40mm for sleeping (I just ordered another A271 with the 45mm ring) the fit is fantastic during the day.

Just another cost effective option for you to think about.

I'll second what danj said. Wish DHgate was around 10 years ago. Would have saved me hundreds $. I have both the 271 & 273 and the quality on both is very good. The fit is even better. I have 3 custom devices that I spent over $1,000.00 on collecting dust because I love what I purchased from DHgate so much.

It's worth a try.

I would stay away from anything plastic if you plan on wearing it long term. If i were you i would buy two devices. An A271 with a 40mm ring, and a A272 with a 45mm ring. This will give you two different lengths of the same style cage, and two different sizes of interchangeable base rings. Buy both of them from the same vendor. Also look for the updated magic locker. It will have 4 visible dowell pins pressed in from the top. Usually sells for about $7. Do a search on this site for either one of these model numbers. There's a ton of excelent content. Good luck.

Well, those are ridiculously cheap. I've seen them but I was like "no way in hell that I get anything even remotely serviceable for that price". Especially after the disaster that the CB6000 knockoff was... Apparently I was wrong on that. Well, if you all vouch for that, I guess I could give this a try. I most certainly would love to have a decent cage at like 10% of the price. From what I can tell, all three of those are metal cages, which is not my preference: the ring being fixed, full ring, instead of the CB6000 style half-ring that I can easily put together is a bit of a pain. Putting that Dominix on was a pain in the ass honestly and, as I mentioned, that was way too big to begin with. It's probably me doing something badly, but pushing both balls through there was an ordeal. Plus I really didn't like how heavy it was and the constant tugging feeling caused by that.

Still, considering the price, It might worth a try. even if it ends up being not so good, at this price even i can afford to experiment a bit.

I like my $15 A272 much better than my $300 Jail Bird. The full cage eliminates alot of the pinching you can get with an open cage. Also use a quality lotion instead of lube.

The comments about "plastic" may have been true years ago, but now plastic materials compare favorably with metal. For example, the Cherry Keeper is made by Shapeways using 3D printing and a nylon material suitable for medical implants. I've been wearing mine for weeks with no odor. I have a Chinese knockoff of the Holy Trainer Nub. It's just fine. I also have a Jail Bird and other miscellaneous custom and off-the-shelf devices. I've never been very fond of the CB devices. They never fit me very well. Take a look at the Cherry Keeper. It's a really comfortable device. you can find it here:https://www.shapeways.com/shops/josiely ... -jewellery.

Huh, never heard of this one. Basically DIY chastity cages, interesting. So the cage part is about $20, the ring is another $15, shipping is probably another $20, and then the EU customs, since this is US based. I have no idea where (or if) I can get lock core locally, but that probably another $10-20. Overall I expect this to be around $70-80 with shipping, locking mechanism and all. I'm unsure about that honestly, mainly because this is a US based site and I'll have to pay extra for customs and shipping if I need a different ring or something, those additional costs in that case would be more than the actual product. Still, I suppose it's an option.

The Cherry Keeper looks interesting. I've become a fan of the closed cage design, so the chances of me jumping ship for another open style is unlikely. However, if i were to do so this one would be on the top of my list to try. At least as a back up, or for going through airport security. I'm impressed with the multiple cuff ring designs and size options. Prices also seem very fair. I would like to see more reviews from long term users.

I've been wearing my Cherry Keeper for a couple of months now. I don't know if that counts as long-term. I published a review of the device. It's very comfortable and does the job. As I wrote before, I strongly recommend spending the $75 design fee for a custom fit.
