Cute. My wife just uses a serial number plastic lock to tie the emergency key to a shelf in the pantry. Easy to take off with a few twists of the lock and visible proof if it has been used due to the serial numbers. After trying all sorts of methods, we settled on this. Simple and it does the job just as well. It has come in handy a few times over the last year when I developed a skin condition that was burning like heck and I had to take it off and also when a testicle escaped and I could not get the other out. I especially like the note on yours. My wife never calls my penis hers. It is always mine but under her control. Probably is due to her not being a penis fan.

Here is what we use:
emergency-key-case-small.jpg
It's a pill container. We have tamper-evident, numbered labels. Then I use shrink tubing to protect it. It's on my keyring at all times.

We use the serial plastic locks to lock it into a pocket in my wallet. The pocket is too small to use the key without breaking the plastic lock. Advantages are: always have key with me, easy to determine key has been used, takes very little room. It is so small compared to the wallet that no one can tell it is there. In fact I cary a spare car key in the same walker. The 2 keys together and the plastic lick I suspect have less volume than a couple of credit cards. It works well for us as I would have concerns if I did not have access to the key at all times and the wife would have concerns if I could use the key without her knowing.

It's also on Amazon, which means you may eliminate the shipping cost when combining it with a larger order.

That's a great solution, Tame Lion. Small and always handy in case it's needed. Thank for that idea.

Total cost was about $5 for the case, $10 for 100 numbered tamper-evident labels (Amazon), and $10 for 10 ft of shrink tubing (should last forever). Amazon has the shrink tube too.
