Deciding which CB to buy.

Totally new to male chastity. Have been reading Sarah's blog and newsletter for a little while and it is awesome! Have really learned a lot. My wife and I have been doing some orgasm denial and have been using the honor system for about a month. We have decided it is time to take the next step. I have read tons of reviews and have changed my mind numerous times. I was about to pull the trigger on the Exobet Extreme and my wife stopped me. She doesnt like the looks of it and we certainly don't want that. I'm glad she spoke up in time. I wanted something on the cheaper side since we weren't sure how much we would enjoy it and thus how often it would get used. After mulling it over though we decided that it is better to go with quality now than upgrade later.

So i just ordered the sizing rings from Mature Metals. My wife found their models more pleasing to the eye and quite frankly so do I. So now the debate is, which one? We have narrowed it down to the Jailbird, the Watchful Mistress, and the Dungeon. I have seen tons of opinions on the Jailbird and it looks like a winner. Not much info on the others. So my question is, has anyone here tried the others? Is there one of them that would be best for a beginner?

I haven't tried any of them. However, the jailbird seems hugely popular. I participate in a number of chastity forums, and that's the one people seem to be gravitating toward.

I think you're making the right decision, starting out with the steel device. Bill at MM is very accommodating and helpful. It may take you a round or two of adjustments, but eventually he'll help you get a fit that's better than any of the plastic devices out there.

Good idea on getting the sizing rings. If nothing else it will slow you down long enough to take plenty of measurements. That is the biggest hurdle I think if you aren't coming from another device (and maybe even if you are). I found I got the best measurements for length in the middle of the day when I was active. Carry a small ruler in your pocket so you can just slip in to the bathroom and take a quick measure. Do this often.

I love my Jailbird. I love my Jailbird. Yes, I meant to say that twice. I have a Pet Trap on order though and have high hopes for it as well. He is going to make it with different size rings on the front (opening) and the tip (head) end for me. He can't do that with the size Jailbird that I have.

I don't know what size you are looking at but I think on the smaller sizes the Pet Trap and the Watchful Mistress are probably pretty similar. The larger the device the more open the Watchful Mistress will be.

I don't know why but the dungeon doesn't do much for me.

Welcome! You'll find lots of threads around here on various MM devices, measuring, fitting and so on. I ordered a Jailbird for my husband after he wore a CB-6000s for a few weeks. The CB worked okay as a device, but I didn't like the plastic or the white pegs. The JB is much sleeker and sexier, IMHO. I was able to use our experience with the CB to help determine the size for the JB, so in that respect it was a useful interim step. But as Atone says, with careful measuring at various times of the day, you should get a good estimate of the size you need.

I have a Watchful Mistress on order. Same size as the JB except 1/4" shorter.

In my experience, the device that fits you on day one isn't the same as the one that fits you on day 365. Your body will adjust and change so that you'll want a smaller A-ring over time. If it were me, I'd order the A-ring that fits now and also the next size down (or maybe even the next two sizes down).

Also, remember that the ring you can wear comfortably all by itself while sporting an erection is way bigger than the one we can wear when it's attached to a device, so I wouldn't use that in figuring out which is the best one.

Or maybe even day 30. If I had my current device on day one I honestly don't think I would have ever got it on. Really. I had a hard time with my CB3000 which has twice the volume (see Dev's post on sizing somewhere, I can find it if you can't). Now I can't imagine using something as big as that.

Right. My first night, I just about died in a 2" ring. Now I wear a 1 5/8" ring with ease. I might even be able drop another size.

Just for reference, my husband has been in 1 3/4" rings through three different devices that he has been wearing since August 16th. We have a 1 5/8" ring for the JB that a friend gave us, but so far, he hasn't expressed any interest in giving it a try. He seems to be completely comfortable with what he is wearing now.

I am really excited about getting a device, but $300 is a lot of money and I don't want to waste it by rushing and screwing up measurements. Patience is kind of a requirement for this whole thing isn't it? Better learn it sometime.

Size-wise, the way things are looking so far will be around 2.5" in length so being too open doesn't look like it will be a problem.

As far as ring sizes go, I have no idea. Never worn one before. That is one of the main reasons I got the sizing kit. I've got the high and tight thing going on right now so I'm guessing that will change before too long. With the rings, are you able to order one now and then just purchase a new ring later when necessary? It looks like you can but I'm not certain. From Dev's comment, it looks like size changing isn't always the case, and with already blowing my budget on the MM anyway, if I could wait a while for extra parts, that would definitely help.

I think I'm probably going to end up with the Jailbird simply due to the sheer number of positive reviews. It seems to be the one my wife likes the most anyway.

So aside from the CB itself, I will be needing a lock (just going to order from MM to avoid problems with sizing that I have seen), some silicone lube (will be ordering the stuff that Thumper recommends). Anything else that would be needed to get started?
