Permanently attached all 3 pieces of the ring set together creating a single ring. Bobbed and polished the alignment pins. Oval assembly pin had to be sanded down to fit inside the Contenders round receptical. Total weight with Abus lock 3.5oz.

So I have worn this version for a week. This ring design has held up well. Its very comfortable and works well with my Contender. I imagine it would work well with a Jail Bird too. The ring is super light weight. That along with the added thickness helps prevent excessive spinning and sagging. The gap can be adjusted by fiddling with the pins and spacers. The only tricky part is drilling the lock hole. The hole placement varies with the spacer/gap combination you use. Using the longest pin enables you to use the original lock hole to hang a tag or pendant from, if your into that kind of thing.
