An affordable version of the articulating cage would be interesting. Though I don't know whether "3d printing" lends itself to "moving parts", you might need metal pins for that.

Edit: This is a very expensive and beautiful articulating cage: https://twitter.com/steelwerks/status/8 ... 9412218880

So I experimented with TPU filament which is flexible and soft. This is a game changer for me, as I am already wearing a cage with the ring printed in TPU, being soft, I adjusted the thickness where it rides the pin then when I put the cage on the pin and insert the lock it actually squashes the ring and everything stays really tight with no gaps and zero chance of creating a pinch point while wearing. I actually had a 4th piece designed for this (an anti pullout ring), but with stiffer materials it pinched, I will have to print my longer pin and a different cage with a thinner flange and my anti pullout ring printed in flexible. Pictures coming this weekend after I print and try it out!

So I broke down and bought an SLA LCD printer I printed the cage and pin with it and the ring and my own design anti-pullout/anti-turtling ring in flexible TPE which has soft skin and doesn't pinch or bind

Here is a cherry keeper knock off design, can take a magic lock, but I printed a dummy pin with a lock path, there is something about when my keyholder clicks a lock in place that I really like. I need to design an anti-pullout device for this yet, but turtling is not an issue
