I've found that the "Arc" base ring just doesn't work for me. Has anyone seen a device with a tube like the A272/271 but with a basic round base ring? I've searched GH Gate and Ali Express without any luck.

I did try using the A271 tube with a standard base ring and the parts just don't line up properly. Unfortunately I have no welding skills (or equipment).

There is another design with a ring using a round profile, but as you've seen, the fittings for the integrated lock do not line up.

It's so frustrating because I like the design/size of the tube but after a few hours the discomfort became unbearable.

A272 use arc ring, but I think the "Arc" base ring you bought is belong to another series.
Although they look same, they are different actually.
A272's metal is not as bright as the Arc ring you bought, isn't it?

Different resellers seem to have different descriptions; it is difficult to sort through them all.

Maybe "arc" wasn't the right word to use. At least a A271 I purchased came with might be called a "anatomical" base ring. It is not made of round stock, nor is it round in shape, and curved (or arched) somewhat from top to bottom. Here's a pretty good picture of what it looks like:

There's also a version of the regular round stock base ring that is some curved from top to bottom.

Regardless of the word used to describe the base ring, the one that comes with the A271/272 doesn't work for me.

No, I knew which one you meant.

I'm really surprised it's not working for you; this is the most comfortable ring I've tried in, well, ever. The flatter profile spreads the pressure out better than a round profile ring. I'm wearing a 45mm, although I'd prefer 47/48, but I can manage this, while a 1-3/4 round ring (size equivalent) is painful.

People are funny.

Sorry to hear the A-ring does not work for you. Must be very frustrating. We usually find most styles of A-rings are ok for me its getting hold of a cage that can can be left on indefinitely that we have the most challenges with

This model uses the same "anatomical"base ring. Just curious if anyone has any experience with it. Looks a bit heavy to be practical. --> https://www.dhgate.com/product/latest-d ... 2819722091

I've seen this, and it's really tempting to buy it because the cage is like the older CB3000 or The Fort. But from the little I've managed to discover, it's a cast stainless cage, as opposed to machined. The metal will be thicker, which means more weight.

My A272 is just about 6 oz; this model will probably be twice that, making it similar to The Fort. I found the Fort to be wearable for short periods, but it had a plain, solid cuff ring. I'm not sure how it would be with the arc style ring. Probably a little more wearable, but still heavy enough to require very supportive underwear.
