Edema help

Post by sherulestherooster »

Not a newbie at all, but seldom locked (longest 8 days in CB-6000S). The probably I had with the CB-6000S is the ring part in direct contact to my shaft. I would have a mark, or swelling exactly the size of the ring (which I believe a terrible design because it's not curved yet flat on the shaft-contact part).

I bought a few cheap (~$30) Chinese cages, and found the perfect ring size (42mm) and I love how the ring is curved. No swelling/edema at all on the shaft contact site - yay! For my anatomy, I can't have any lube, at least not on the ring, because with lubrication, the ring just slips off of me. I have a 40mm ring size, but its very difficult to put on and my balls seemed to start changing color when I did.

I don't have any real effects wearing the cage unaroused (I also found the shorter cage size worked better, not only because my shaft is closer to the cage opening, but also because the reduced weight of the cage helps avoid the slippage). I had some arousal time and I got some pretty significant swelling/edema on the cage contact areas, presumably as my cock was trying to get hard. I wouldn't say it was painful. The swelling/edema went away fairly quickly - after I took the cage off for bed, I got another erection and it was totally gone... I'm guessing 30 min later.

This is a little distressing as I don't want to damage my goods. I don't have inches to lose, lol.

So I'm wondering if that's just part of the deal with cages? Is it just my anatomy? Is there anything I can do use on my shaft that isn't as lubricating that can help?

Although I'm pretty into denial, caging is really a part time activity/hobby for me, so I'm not going to spend a ton of money on a custom device. I really do enjoy this cage, frankly. This is my only problem so far.

Appreciate your thoughts!

Sounds to me like it’s just your body trying to get hard in a cage that might be too big. Some swelling is to be expected, but not if real pain develops. Mine squeezes through the front bars quite a lot (over a half inch) and always returns to normal. Another reason I’m antsy to get a Contender.

Definitely listen to your body though. Not worth risking injury.

In my experience, edemas happen because the tube/cage is too tight, such that the expanding penis hits it while it is still squishy. Ideally, the it only hits the barrier once the surface is firm.

I've been doing some self locking lately, and two things: my cages is far easier to get on than when I first got it; and I haven't seen the big edema marks I had issues with before (even with a fair amount of erotic porn whilst caged). Has my cock "learned" to adjust to the cage? I would think I could put it on in under 30 sec now, the only factor being if I get too excited I may have to turn to something else to actually get the cage on.

it's my understanding that edema can result if the diameter of the cage is too narrow for your penis. It may also result from a too tight a base ring. I always suggest (and follow my own suggestion) that this cage itself is 1/4 inch narrower than the measured diameter of your penis. No less. The base ring should fit comfortably without any irritation whatsoever. I hope this is helpful.
