If you are TSA Pre (costs $80 and a background check), all you go through are metal detectors. A Holy Trainer with its tiny brass lock will make it through.

Even so, you still get the random “SSSS” tag on your boarding pass which means you’ve been selected for extra screening. My wife is a foreign national (U.S. permanent resident) and we get the SSSS tag at least once every dozen flights or so—even with our TSA Pre designation.

Something to consider.
