Ordered, now just the wait. Can't know how comfortable it really will be, but the shape of the ring is promising.

Scrolling through the sellers other items, there are a couple of other lengths with the same basic design and base, but the end of the cage is a different style.

Think this same seller is in DH Gate - same price but I wanted to purchase thru pay pal.

Based on my experience, these don't work. The space at the bottom is too wide and allows easy escape.

Could be, but this style differs in that the cage is not curving away from the base ring that is curving away from the cage. Only the base ring is curving back.

This could be one solution, but too intimidating for me.

I think something like this does create too large of a gap.

I like this.

If my experience with the A080 (DHGate) is any indication, the flatter, wider band is more slip-resistant than the round cuff ring.

I also saw this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2016-NEW-High-q ... 2105868604?

But it has a round or circular band instead of the flat style. I made a circular solid one for my A080, and it tended to slip down, probably because of the weight.

I'd question the quality and longevity of the Chinese made locks, but you could probably easily get replacements.

I'd also question if the rings are actually stainless steel, or some kind of casting. I had some experience a while ago in which the rings were advertised as stainless, but were just chrome plated alloy casting.

I struggle with cages that are constructed by welding rings together in a single arc. I can't seem to keep the creased between the welds dry, which results in the "wet-skin-stink" after a few hours/days. How do the rest of you deal with keeping the skin dry under the weld arc?

B i a C,
The metal used for the weld may be the issue. The style I ordered appears to actually be a section of a tube cut and bent - no apparent weld underneath. Obviously the end is different material so it is welded, but that would seem to be at a minimum.

For more open styles, I've not necessarily had the problem you descibe. Perhaps a little larger diameter would permit a little more lateral movement and not such restricted / constant contact?

My Chinese A080 has a lot of weld on the bottom, but I haven't had any issues. It could be the type of weld wireused, or poor cleaning of the surface leaving some impurities that are reacting with your skin.

I have consistently had problems with the devices that have stacked rings like that. I always get swelling, and edema, even bruising with them regardless the length or diameter of the cage. I also flatly refuse to wear a cage with guide pins. Yes indeed. Nothing like trying to get back into the cage after a nice session of T&D, trying to fit myself back in and trying to line up the guide pins into those stupid little holes. Not going down? A few pokes and a little blood from the pins will take care of that! I do much better with a solid device or one with parallel bars running the length of the cage.

I think that the cages with the flat sides on the post are pure genius. Things line up easily, the cage doesn't rotate, simple.

Speaking of new designs... someone mentioned this one a while back, wondering who made it. They've popped up on eBay, and I ordered one. A bit pricey, but I like the HT2, and one out of 316 stainless is worth it. This is a stock photo. I've ordered one, and will comment after I've had a chance to do the usual smoothing and polishing and worn it for a month or so. They make it in both the short and long versions.
