I got mine Saturday. Overall I am very impressed with the Contender. Not so much with my measurements. The fact that the smaller ring holds it so much tighter to my body changes everything. The cage I got is too short for me. The diameter is also too large. I have been mixing and matching pieces this weekend and I'm finding that my Jailbird fits pretty perfect with the Contender ring. I think when I order the new one I will be going with the same measurements as my jailbird cage but with a smaller ring. I will also be opting for a security screw and probably an oval ring. Were it not for the insanely lighter weight of the contender I would probably stick with the Jailbird cage and Contender ring.

Jnuts, can you re-explain the sizing you ordered vs what you think you should have? I re-read your posts and am not understanding.

I have two Contenders. A prototype and the standard one
1. 2-1/4" long, 1-3/8" cage diameter, 1/4" gap (plate prototype with PA hook)
2. 2-1/4" long, 1-1/2" cage diameter, 1/4" gap (standard, without mount for PA)

I ended up settling on a 1-7/8" oval base ring with a top mounted post (1-3/4" x 2").

The second one is just too roomy for me. I never emotionally latched on to the larger cage like I did with the prototype. So, I am pondering a new smaller cage, but with a mount for the PA hook. The plate prototype is great, but I think urination will be much better in the standard design.

I'd like to compare notes with you, but I can't seem to grasp what you ordered vs your desired changes.

I too really like the lightweight design! And Mark's response and turn around times makes him really awesome to work with.

The top-mounted post is really nice, and I'm thinking about getting a smaller 1-3/4" round base ring, as my comfort level has increased. I don't need a tighter ring to prevent it from slipping down, but I figured I'd try as his rings and custom high-security bolts are interchangeable.

I hope you find a fit that works for you!

jnuts, out of curiosity, can you tell us the weight difference between your Contender and Jailbird? When I was designing the Contender one of the things at the top of my list was to make the device as light as I could, so I'd be interested in knowing how much weight I removed.
