How does the body adapt?

The HolyTrainer arrived a week ago, and I've been alternating between it and the Bon4m, trying different size rings. I like them both. I like the HT because it completely encases the penis and the cage never pinches. It does take your cock and make it a non-item. I like the feeling of the squeeze as it's locked in the cage because it's so snug. I reach all of the way to the end and it gets compressed, which is nice. I like the Bon4m because I like the weight and the way it's made. I started with the 45mm ring on the HT, wore it all day Saturday, all day Sunday, but noticed some pinching on the back of my scrotum so took it off an checked - a nice red spot. So I went to the B4m with the 45 mm, which may have been a mistake. The next day was O day, so free in the morning, and I stayed loose until bedtime when I went with the 48mm ring on the B4m. Better and things were healing.

I've alternated between the two devices, and different ring sizes. I tend to get sore with the smaller rings. With the HT the 50mm ring is comfortable, with the B4m the 48mm ring is comfortable, and I don't get a sore spot with either. But I tend to pop out on occasion, and at random. I used Berts Bees Mama Bees oil for a while, and am now using a silicone oil. I think the problem on Sunday was that I had used lotion instead of oil, but the oil is not the cure.

Adjusting the spacing isn't an option on either device. So I can't do that.

So, after that preamble, here's my question. I've read that your sac adjusts and adapts to the rings after a while, and that you will eventually go to a smaller ring. I know I wouldn't pop out with a 45, and would like to use that, but don't want to create problems. Again, I do oil regularly. How long does it usually take before you go to a smaller size ring? Weeks, months? Should I "force" the issue? For now, I think I'd rather risk popping out than create a sore and have to go out of the cage for a while. I really do intend this to be a long term lifestyle change, not just a game. The purpose is to stop me from masturbating and improve our love life. So far it looks like that will work, but I need to know what to do to get comfortable. Spending the money on a MM Jailbird isn't in the budget, and won't be for quite a while.

What's your experience? What do you suggest.

Personally i found i adjusted quickly and the the HT2's ergonomic and smooth ring design made it's use very easy to get used to BUT that's just my findings. The biggest thing i noticed was the increase in size of my scrotum over just a few months, initially i was very high and tight but now i'm much "looser" and that helps a lot with ease of fitting.

When I started a few years ago, it was in the cb6. I could only tolerate the next to largest ring. I wore that for a few weeks, then tried the next smaller ring. Over several months I worked my way down to the smallest ring which is 38mm (about 1 1/2 inches). I did it slowly, and could pretty much tell when I needed the next ring. The sack just naturally stretched. Each change meant dealing with a little of the famous ball burn. I used silicon lube a couple times a day to solve that. If you plan on making this a lifestyle, then get a pa piercing and use the ring training time as healing time for the piercing. Then you won't be falling out randomly either.

An additional thought, you need to be wearing it almost 24/7. It will not work very well if you take a few breaks very often. I found that out from experience. You can do it, but the break will set you back.

Good... Looking forward to the stretch! I'm trying to wear 24/7, and would if it weren't for the sore spots. I'm glad that I ordered the extra (50mm) ring. Traveling in the HT2 now with a small bottle of silicone lube in my pocket.

A PA isn't in the picture for now. Not sure if I want it and my lady isn't likely to go for it, certainly not right now!

If I recall we went down a ring size in the first couple weeks but he's been at that same size now for the past few months.

You really shouldn't need to lube at all. The skin needs to be dry and moisturizing should just be put on and allowed to soak in. If you need lube for comfort it means that there is a combination of pressure and friction from the base ring. The cage part is like a lever and if it tries to rotate, the base ring needs to follow. This motion can be only a few degrees one way or another as your body moves, but if the base ring can't easily follow, chafing will follow.

The problem is frequently with the material that the ring is made from. Plastics and silicone tend to be "grippy" and in order to move with your body have to be larger diameter. If you have a ball popping out of one size and the next size down is painful, which is how I read your post, you may need to consider a stainless steel cage. The steel base ring (particularly if it is the single ring) will move with your body. My cage is on 24/7 with only removal twice a week for cleaning and maybe a break now and then for teasing or orgasm. It's completely comfortable day and night.

I understand that there is something cool about being fully encased. I think Steeworx makes a tube like that out of steel. The only thing I would say is that if you can't wear your device 24/7 for long periods of time, you won't get the benefits you seek.

In terms of adapting, I am still comfortable in my 1 3/4" base ring and have no plans to change size.

I took about 2 months to get used to my cage
Of course the lock up has always been 24x7 since beginning
I started with 50 mm ring and then came down to 45 mm ring after about 2-3 months
After 2 years, most of the time I don't even realize that I'm locked

For some the adjustment to a plastic or silicone device just never happens. That is what happened to me. For others it may take a week or few months. Don't give up right away, but do understand that there are as many that didn't have any luck that did with a "one size fits all" device.

I had to go to a custom Steelworxx device to get the fit and comfort we needed for me to wear as long as she wants. I can go weeks at a time without it on, she have me put it on and I can go months with it on with no problems. Custom always wins when it comes to that tho. I would suggest to keep trying but plan to save your money for a custom.

I've been caging more lately and had some thoughts to share on this topic. I got a "cheap" metal cage from DHGate with several ring sizes 40, 42, 44, and I think 48mm. The 44 kept sliding off so it was between the 40 and 42 mm.

When I first started wearing the 42 mm, it was difficult to get on. If it was cold, I simply couldn't get it on - my balls didn't cooperate. In that case, I'd have to get in a warm shower to put the ring on. Even still, I would frequently have issues getting my second testicle in the ring.

Now with some experience, I can get my balls inside the 42mm ring in seconds. I normally have to take a pause after that because I typically develop a partial erection over my excitement about being caged - normally just go and check email and then it's reduced. If that's not the case, it's like another second to push my shaft through. At that point, I WILL have a partial erection and will have to wait a minute to actually put the cage on and lock.

So that's adaptation part 1 - I went from having a difficult time getting the 42mm on to it being relatively a snap.

Part 2 - I tried the 40mm as when I have any moisture (say after a shower) the 42mm cage can very easily start to sag down. This can only be remedied with a jock strap until everything has dried out. I agree with @Caged Lion that dry is better. I can fairly easily take the cage off just from that slippage. So I tried the 40mm the other day and I got it on. There were several times in past experimenting that I literally could not get it on. And when I did, my balls started looking purplish, it felt too tight, so I immediately took it off. Well, I was able to get it on and it felt pretty good. But here's the thing - as per above, I got an erection and the veins on my cock seemed really bulging a lot more than normal. So that also freaked me out and I took it off.

So, I guess I'm just adding that a man's body does seem to adapt to chastity cages and while I very much like the idea of going with the smaller 40mm cage, I don't want to hurt anything either so not sure if I can continue trying. I do like the idea of having less chance for slippage.
