I think I am going to do a blog post on different kinds of lube. Silicone would be like Astroglide?

No, Astroglide is water based, and works well when a woman needs a little extra moisture. For other things, it dries out quickly and quits lubricating. Not so good for anal sex, for example. The silicone ones are more expensive.

On my CB, I use baby oil, which doesn't dry out at all, and just a little soap gets rid of the oil. The soap lifting the oil may explain why I don't tend to have cleanliness problems.

For chafes, Monistat makes an anti-chafe gel, which is good treatment, but doesn't work to lube a cage.

I've heard of lots of guys who use baby oil, but I prefer the silicone because it lasts longer (in my experience), is easier to apply (more like syrup rather than oil), and doesn't smell like a baby (even the non-scented kind smells funny to me - silicone has no scent whatsoever). It's true that the silicone may contribute to cleanliness issues, but anyone in a device should be cleaning it twice daily anyway and I've not had any problems as long as I do that.

Silicone lube is the best. The only bad part about it is you cannot get it off your fingers afterward. I might have to get some of what thumper is using though. What I have is very thin, like oil, not at all syrupy.

I like the Papi thongs, but I miss the older Score models which I found more supportive.

Seriously, we had a very good time. Ab seems to love his Jailbird and except for a little bit of soreness on the left, it isn't bothering him at all. He is wondering if he really was in the 1/4" spacer on the CB. He says this does feel tighter, but it might be the metal as opposed to the plastic. The length and diameter sizing seems to be perfect, however. Bill (Mr. MM) did say that changing the gap was an easy fix so if the 1/4" becomes problematic, we can do that.

Looking at the calendar, I see that I am about due for my period (it's been 31 days). It would be nice if I could get that out of the way this week so I don't wreck Ab's planned vacation next weekend. Generally I am pretty regular but given my age, it's getting iff-ier. From August to September it was 18 days but back in February I went 65 days between cycles. Skipped the month of March entirely.

well, yes.

I think the gap is one of the hardest parts to get right, and the most important for me for comfort. I had to gently open the gap on mine by about .05 (not recommended by Mr. MM but it worked fine). The problem as I see it is that until you have the cage in the right diameter, and the base ring in the right diameter you can't really determine the correct gap. Very frustrating but once you get it right it sure is nice.

And what size ring are you currently wearing? The one we got is 1 3/4" which is actually a size up from the one he was wearing on the CB. But for the moment, it seems to be the right size.

Slowly, and carefully. With a spare lock holding everything together I used a wood wedge to gently separate the bottom of the gap. I used a set of calipers to measure before and during the process (I wouldn't try this without being able to take very accurate measurements). Go slow. This is NOT recommended by Mr. Metal. There is a risk that it could crack a weld, most likely the one that attaches the post to the base ring. I considered this acceptable as it wasn't working as it was. And, there was no way I was going without the device for two weeks while it was shipped back, adjusted, sent out again.

I am currently using a 1 7/8" ring, the 1 3/4" was giving me some trouble at first. If I am ever let out again (just kidding, I am sure she will unlock me someday, I hope) I am going to try the 1 3/4" ring again. I am pretty sure that is the size I should be using, just the gap wasn't quite right. The larger ring already had a slightly larger gap (about .30"). Because it was working I never asked to try to go back. As you know I am currently on near total lockdown as an experiment (28 days as of today with no removal, 38 days without any stimulation).

I have a 1 5/8" ring that I have not and will never use, if you would like to have it let me know via PM and I will send it to you. It is set for 1/4" gap on my cage, not sure how consistent his cages are.
