That is an interesting take on it. I am actually looking at a steelworxx device and one of the things I am looking forward to trying is having more gap at the bottom and having the alignment pins help keep everything down there. I'm not saying it will be better than what I have now but I want to experience the difference so I can decide for myself what I like. Sounds like I might end up cutting the post off one of my rings and welding a new one on top myself if I want to go that way with my jailbird.
