Slip out

Post by Shane67 »

Just how tight should the base ring be anyway? I just slipped out of the 42mm ring; I wasn't doing anything strenuous (like removing snow, gah!), just sitting at my desk. As it happens, I had just inquired with Steelworxx about moving to a 40mm ring. Now I'm thinking should I go with 38mm? Dietmar will also shorten my current tube for a small fee, which I think I'm also going to do.

38mm (1.5 inches) seems awfully tight...

Shane,

I've never slipped out (yet). My ring is tight enough that I can just get the tip of my pinkie finger underneath it. That seems to be a good measure for most.
