The toe cages added more power than just flat pedals, but the stiff soled shoes, and the clipped in mechanics added much more than I would have thought. Now I'm mad at myself for not doing it sooner.Bird in a Cage wrote: There is a remarkable power transfer difference when going to clipless pedals and shoes. Watch out for the "sexy" factor though—last year I bought a pair of $300 Diadoras, not because I needed them, but because they were freaky sexy (and comfortable—but mostly just sexy).
I wandered into my LBS when they were having an end-of-season sale, and tried on some really comfortable Bontragers at a really nice price reduction. I already had the pedals, so it was a no brainer.
I don't drink to excess. I exercise regularly. I limit myself in all other aspects (except maybe internet use), so why would it be so difficult to self-regulate my self-pleasuring? And maybe years spent in a device has something to do with it, but I also like the idea of getting permission, so that helps, too. That is impressive to me... I don't have that level of self-control. Odd, since I have great self control over: food, exercise, tv time, and all other bad habits—except the one in my pants. Maybe 10 years is the key.
