Strange swelling - Doctors baffled

We have been using the cb-3000 for the past six months. I have a 6 ga PA with a ball that traps it in the slit at the front. Recently, I have had episodes of "bruising" followed by extreme swelling. I have been to the urologist, and after his puzzled look and various questions as to the "why", suggested changing the lube (was using neosporin). I have been using Glysomed since, and this weekend, had another swelling episode.

The usual progress is I feel a "pinch", the way when the ring gets caught against the plastic of the device, but upon checking, it's just pushed up against the end fairly hard. The other symptom is a puffy "pillow" on my shaft, right where the base ring and the device go together. Then, when we take the device off, the shaft has "pillows" all around the shaft. There seems to be a gravitational element to it. When I tape the shaft upwards for a few hours, the pillows go away, but the head remains bruised, then gets dried over, and the skin peels and cracks. Overall, not the most pleasant of experiences.

I realize that people here are more likely to have experience something like this than my urologist (and his Phys.Asst) have seen.

I wonder if you're having airflow problems. The CB3000 doesn't breathe very well. I've had issues with chaffing and dry skin when I've worn mine for a length of time. It might be time to consider a device with more airflow, like a Jailbird,or something.

Do you see the symptons dissappear and remain gone when out of the device?
Do the symptons hurt even when out of the device?
Is is a fluid build up which you say has a gravataional element, ie it drains?
I have no idea what it is but maybe it is as mike says some heat/cooling issue. I am sure it is not at all pleasant. I wish you the best of luck in solving the problem.
