Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone's tried cycling while wearing a 6000? I am planning to go to a spinning class tomorrow, and am wondering if I should take it off before I go. As you may recall, we're still very new to this as I just got my 6000 just over a week ago. I think I now have it sized properly, and am still learning some small tweaks.

Tom's done it loads. I have done it and can only say I don't recommend it with tight cycling gear. Also, lube. It is your friend.

You don't recommend cycling shorts due to (lack of) comfort issues, or just from the noticeability aspect? I put on my cycling shorts today, and with the chamois, one would have to look real closely to notice an 'unusual bump'. Irritation is another story. There's enough discomfort in that one-hour spinning class just from the exertion, never mind getting rubbed raw down South.

Any recommendations for lube? I think I still have some Body Glide (that hopefully isn't dried up), or would Vaseline work better?

Let me qualify this - I switched to a split saddle to avoid the irritation. Otherwise, you have to tip the seat forward a bit, which may not be possible on those spinning bikes.

As it happens, I recently bought a trainer so I can start the season in better shape than I did last year. This trainer allows you to bolt your actual bike to a frame, and the resistance is controlled by rollers. I'm using an old bike that I no longer use on the road. It has a regular style saddle - vinyl covered, a bit of cushion, and the nose that my testicles ride on. The cuff ring needs to be positioned just right, and I spend the first few minutes adjusting myself.

While I normally stay away from oils, I'd say that if you're going to wear it, use some baby oil around the ring.

But by all means, give it a try. Bring your key in case you need to remove it midway through the session.
